Thirteen big name movie stars who couldn't cut it on television - VIDEOS (AOL TV)
Mar 2nd 2009 10:17AM Chevy Chase couldn't cut it on TV? Ummm, no.
His talk show sucked, but Chase was one of the original cast members of SNL. He started on TV.
NBC gives full seasons to Life and Chuck (AOL TV)
Nov 27th 2007 10:36AM Glad to see these picked up, but, umm, who exactly is going to write these episodes?
Bionic Woman: Faceoff (AOL TV)
Oct 18th 2007 9:45AM I think that's exactly the point, Alex99. A whole lot of us (including me) were expecting something other than light entertainment. With David Eicke heading the thing, we were expecting the same quality as BSG. Instead we got a lame Saturday-morning cartoon, without the humor.
I actually turned this ep off after about 45 mins. I'll give it one more week, I guess, but I'm with everyone else. It's getting worse, not better.
Is JavaScript slowing down the web? (Download Squad)
Aug 20th 2007 12:42AM I think you've misrepresented an important piece here.
JavaScript runs in your browser, not on the web server. So when bad JavaScript gets run, it doesn't really "slow down the web" -- it slows down your browser. Of course, the effect is that the website you're loading seems to slow down. But my browser being slow doesn't effect YOU -- so it's not really "slowing down the website," just my view of the website.
It's subtle, but it's important.
Ten new shows you won't see this fall (AOL TV)
Aug 16th 2007 1:55PM M.I.L.F. and Cookies: No way the word "MILF" gets used on broadcast TV, even on the CW.
I'm In Hell: I wish this one was true (David Cross rocks!), but no way.
The Sniper: Great title, but too cute/obscure for real TV.
Richard Schiff reveals more about what happened to The West Wing (AOL TV)
Feb 8th 2007 8:02PM This still doesn't answer why Richard Schiff was completely absent from the final episode. Everyone else got to say goodbye, why didn't Toby?
Spoilers Anonymous (AOL TV)
Jan 10th 2007 1:46PM Veronica and Logan get back together at some point this season.
Not sure "most obvious thing every" qualifies as a Spoiler.... ;-)
Subtle Subtitles (AOL TV)
Dec 1st 2006 3:19PM "Sorry, Bob-o, practice all you want, but you're ne-heh-vaa-er going to get on Dancing With the Stars" -- Dr. Cox
How I Met Your Mother: Single Stamina (AOL TV)
Nov 28th 2006 9:54AM Two things really bothered me about the ep. First, as mtx noted above, what about the whole Barney-as-hippy thing? We've been told before that Barney became Barney only after he got dumped. This time, it seems like Barney & James have been Suited-Up their whole adult lives. I kept waiting for at least a throw away line about Old Barney, and felt let down & insulted in the end for not getting it. Way to reward longtime viewers there, Producers.
The other weird thing was James' husband. Other than the pic on Barney's phone, they never showed him. Even as Barney was giving his toast at the wedding, the shot was framed to hide Tom's face behind other guests. Secret HIMYM clue, or just no money for an actor?
Veronica Mars: Charlie Don't Surf (AOL TV)
Oct 25th 2006 11:16AM This was not my favorite ep. They skipped over an awful lot, like how Veronica figured out that Logan had a half brother. One minute she's Googling, and the next minute she's got Charlie's name in big letters on her white board. And they never explained how the magazine writer knew about Charlie, either -- he was just magically tapping Charlie's phone when Logan called.
As for Mac, I suspect there is a more mundane and real world reason she was gone last night. The show probably contracted with the regular but not major actors (e.g. Percy Dags, Fancis Capra, Tina Majorino) to be on less than the full season (or half season, in this case). That way they can pay them less money, and with the show in trouble, that might be some needed savings. Thus we see less of Wallace, Weevil & Mac. And we get lame reasons why.
