Dec 31st 2009 10:10AM This really should be filed under KIRF.

Dec 17th 2009 8:15AM @rk604 Absolutely, it's gotta be similar to the Peek device, which has dedicated T-mob servers for flow control. That said, it may not limit traffic to the eBooks site on the back end.

Ralph de la Vega promises fix for San Francisco and Manhattan coverage, plans to 'address' heaviest data users (Engadget)

Dec 9th 2009 2:11PM @Phen That is just asinine. What exactly does a discussion of battery life that add to the discussion? The fact of the matter is that AT&T's network is strained. Congestion pricing is a valid method. I agree with Jack that the current system proposed does amount to punishment, because ultimately these consumers paid for unlimited service, and decided to use it as such. A true congestion pricing scheme would eliminate unlimited plans, and charge for true data consumption. This gives a true demand for bandwidth, and AT&T can devote their resources with some semblance of intelligence, instead of hiring Luke Wilson.

Sprint announces massive layoffs, store closings amid subscriber defection (Engadget)

Jan 18th 2008 1:38PM I have Sprint, and continue to do so only because I have the clout a Fortune 500 company...numerous billing errors that were only corrected once I reached out to the personal executive Sprint representative assigned to my company. Their CS is awful, I've had CS reps accuse me of trying to cheat the system by complaining about incorrect charges (I was charged twice for the cost of my handset, resulting in a $1000 charge). Signal is not bad at all in major metropolitan areas, but the handset selection is slim pickings.

Final Macworld predictions? (Engadget)

Jan 14th 2008 6:54PM Steve Jobs will announce that in fact, he is the Second Coming, and white light will begin to radiate from him, first from the tips of his fingers, then a complete blinding aura around his entire body. He will start to levitate on stage, and speak in tongues. He will then clear his throat and begin announcing the new Macbook lineup, including a subcompact unit and a tablet unit. After running through new iTunes partnerships and Leopard updates, he will close out by stating that we are in fact in the Days of Judgement. However, being Steve Jobs, he will refuse to unveil the exact release date, leaving only a black curtain that say "Coming Soon - End of Days."

Gear and loathing in Las Vegas - Engadget has left the building (Engadget)

Jan 12th 2008 11:59PM I dunno, he's got a point...that's Team Engadget up there, but all we saw was Veronica. She's a great host, but clearly she was not the only one providing coverage, which doesn't seem obvious from the CES posts.
