Office 2003 SP3 "blocks" old file formats (Download Squad)
Jan 3rd 2008 8:56PM "we highly recommend converting your old files to a new format anyway" - that sounds good, except you don't really know what to convert. There is no tool to list files with the old format - you can guess one by one, click properties one by one, convert them one by one - and do this all BEFORE SP3, since after that you won't be able to access them. A fact MS forgets to warn you PRIOR to the update. More on this:

Apr 3rd 2006 11:20AM Originally I was also very enthusiastic, until I discovered that the only option to save one's work is to the local harddisk. That's a disappointment, the whole point in moving to Web Apps should be to be able to access our work anywhere - that means online.

Aug 19th 2005 9:22AM Niall, Joining Duncan above: no point in redoing the list, introducing multi-tag search, or adding any other new features when the basics keep on falling apart. Google it a bit - bloggers complain left and right, that AGAIN they are not indexed, or when they do, their rating and inbound links fell significantly. But that's nothing; the worst is that your crawler messes up big time, not finding the boundaries of individual posts. - Posts get listed with the title of the previous post in the main page - tags get associated with the post after. Since yesterday email sent to either suppport or kmarks at technorati bounces. :-((((

A splog here, a splog there, pretty soon it ads up... and we all lose (Blog Maverick)
Aug 16th 2005 5:20PM If others join IceRocket in boycotting the blogspot domain, they might just push Google to accelerate it’s plans to “own” the blog search space either by development or acquisition. On the other hand, if technology fails to curtail spam, Google should use economic means: a one-time blog creation fee, or even monthly $3 would not hurt individual bloggers, but it would become a significant expense for spammers who automatically create splogs by the thousand.
