Qumana 2.0 - Offline Blog Authoring With Easy Ad Insertion (Download Squad)

Oct 19th 2005 4:06PM Yes, exactly. Qumana lets you edit old posts and still edit them in your web-based admin panel too. One good trick is to edit an old post (you can enter a number higher than 10) and insert an ad into an old and popular post. I've done this personally with great success. -T

Ask Download Squad: What's the best alternative to Microsoft Office? (Download Squad)

Jul 22nd 2005 3:46PM I haven't tried AbiWord, but will at least look at it. I had OpenOffice for a long while, but purely for diskspace reasons had to uninstall it. That being said, I have to keep Office 2003, don't like it, but have to have it. Unless the whole team is in OO, then one person flipping to PowerPoint or Word can ruin everyone's day. On the Outlook note... I have it installed, perhaps I should uninstall it ... I've been using Thunderbird and Sunbird for months and haven't missed Outlook at all!

Microsoft: Please buy Office 2003 ... pretty please? (Download Squad)

Jul 22nd 2005 9:03AM I have Office 2003 and frankly haven't seen any real improvements over Office 2000 or Office XP. The ONLY reason I'm running Office 2003 is that I got it as a free upgrade when I bought Office XP. I concur with OpenOffice. If it weren't for some lingering wierdness with track changes and a few other things, I'd make the total switch. Now that OpenOffice, even the 2.0 betas, is a real viable alternative to MS Office, MS is going to have a very hard time getting people to fork over several hundred dollars for an upgrade.
