TUAW Hands On with the Apple Keyboard (TUAW.com)

Aug 10th 2007 5:39PM I consider myself a Model-M guy as well. Although, for some reason, I decided to try a MacAlly IceKey so I picked one up on Monday. I'm still not crazy about it. I just discovered the Matias Tactile Pro 2.0 keyboard and it looks interesting, but why the hell is it $150??!!??

Why the iPhone Will Fail (TUAW.com)

Jun 27th 2007 1:31PM I have a Sony touchscreen universal remote. It was fun for about an hour then I realized I hated having to look at the screen in order to press the right buttons.

That was the first thing I thought of when I learned about the iPhone at the beginning of the year.

Looking at high-end universal remotes these days, they seem to feature more buttons and less touchscreens.

Might not be a dealbreaker with the JesusPhone...but we'll see once real-world users start reviewing it.

Missing Sync for Windows Mobile beta allows syncing without Flight Mode (TUAW.com)

Apr 11th 2007 4:30PM I guess I'm jumping in here with a "me too" post but I've been syncing my Cingular 2125 smartphone over bluetooth for a couple months now and not once did I switch over to flight mode (or even know that I was to switch over).

LicenseKeeper tracks your serial number collection (TUAW.com)

Mar 8th 2007 6:19PM With xCode and Core Data, in roughly 15 minutes (give or take) you could build an app with 90% of the functionality of this one. Of course, adding the pretty icons and stuff would take a few minutes longer :)

Apple cheaper than Dell? (TUAW.com)

Dec 8th 2006 10:21AM @jon

"That higher resolution screen on a dell laptop isn't all it's cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice screen, but a 17" screen with 1920 pixels across makes everything so small you can't read anything."

Yikes. When will blind people stop commenting on WUXGA laptop displays? I've been using a 15.4" WUXGA display for 3 years now and I can honestly say it's everything it's cracked up to be and more.

It's somewhat of a joke that my 30" cinema display only does marginally more resolution than my puny little Inspiron's 15.4" display.

It's all about screen real estate, my friend.

Apple would be wise to offer a WUXGA option on the 15 and 17 inch MBPs.

New Parallels Desktop beta with major new features (Download Squad)

Dec 7th 2006 3:10PM If I understand this correctly, I can now run a Boot Camp partition directly from Parallels while in OSX?

Basically, if I want full hardware/memory support under Windows, I can boot directly into XP using Boot Camp.

Or...

If I want to boot into OSX, I can then run Parallels to access everything that is available in the Boot Camp partition (OS settings, installed software, etc.) but with the limited hardware support as mentioned above (3D, etc).

(Sorry for the newbie question...I've been contemplating switching to a Mac and this sounds like the answer to my "If only Parallels allowed you to...." questions).
