Review: 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Convertible is just right (Autoblog)

Sep 30th 2009 8:14PM Jeff, GM actually has made performance improvements to the GS relative the base car that bridge the gap to the Z06. The LS3 is unchanged (aside from the dry sump on the manual coupe) but the gearbox has different ratios that bring 0-60 to 3.95 (vs 3.7 for Z06), the brakes, wheels and tires are all larger, spring rates are revised. The stabilizer bars match the Z06 and the springs are stiffer. This truly is an intermediate step and it is visually distinct due to the convertible or targa and the side vents.

Jul 24th 2008 1:06PM All the GM and Ford hybrids are still eligible for the tax credits although the Escape hybrid will probably cross the sales threshold this year where the credits start to go away. GM is nowhere near that sales level yet. The Chrysler hybrid suvs also get the credit when they go on sale this fall.

Jun 3rd 2008 12:27PM Modern turbo engines are all going to direct injection, which helps avoid the issues of pre ignition. By compressing only air and then injecting the fuel, it lowers the temperature of the intake charge. The result is that higher compression, higher boost turbo engines can run regular gas without knocking.

Honda to supply IndyCar engines at least 5 more years (Autoblog)

May 25th 2008 3:34PM Actually it has nothing to do with only allowing Honda engines. All the other manufacturers (GM, Toyota, Infiniti) who have participated in IRL over the past dozen years have dropped out of their own accord after failing to be competitive. Honda simply developed the best engine and everyone else walked away.

Sep 13th 2007 6:19PM That's all she wrote. You'll probably see a few more posts about some of the smaller and offbeat stuff over the next few days, but all the big stuff is out. Most of the important stuff was already shown before the show even started.
