Apr 9th 2008 1:48PM @JohnJohnson: I own a 2008 Jetta SE and the aux connector IS in the glovebox. I have a big long aux cable that I have to run from the glovebox to the cupholders where I put my mp3 player (shudder). Perhaps the person who designed your Rabbit actually took the time to think about how stupid putting a aux jack in a glovebox actually is.
The iPod connector is in the center armrest if that option is chosen (as pictured).

Apr 9th 2008 1:23PM If your friend has this car (2008 - 170hp wasn't available until this model year) then all this would be covered by warranty. I have owned one of these for 6 months and have no experienced any of the problems that you describe. Sounds like your friend's car may have had some water damage or something.

Apr 9th 2008 1:20PM tpp,
The iPod connector is a $200 option. A standard aux jack is standard though stupidly placed in the glovebox. No it's not USB but it'll at least let you use your brown Zune. :o)
Dodge's Journey will make all your dreams come true (Autoblog)
Apr 9th 2008 10:24AM When will domestic auto makers finally "get it" and realize that lame interiors will not lure the import buyers that they are trying to attract? Yes the Journey looks nice from the outside and it offers some pretty cool storage options inside, but the overall interior look and feel reminds me of the late 90's.
The Journey is certainly not alone in this respect. My wife and I test drove a fully-loaded Ford Edge a couple of months ago with a $33,000 price tag. It looked great from the outside but once I got in the drivers seat and saw the cheap plastic used on the instrument panel, I was instantly turned off. Feeling the cheap controls only sealed the deal and an Edge was no longer an option for our family.
Back to the Journey, has Dodge not looked at the price of gas lately? This is 2008 and 19 city/25 highway is certainly nothing to be bragging about. With gas mileage this terrible, what is preventing a buyer from just buying a "real" SUV? I'm sorry Dodge, but this vehicle will never make any of my dreams come true.
