Silly Sunday Survey: trackpad scrolling? (TUAW.com)

Oct 16th 2005 8:09PM I hate mice. I am such a keyboard junkie, it's not even funny. But I love this scroll. I find it so amazingly useful. I mean, even with a mouse plugged in (ise use an old pro mouse) I'll switch over to the trackpad to use the scroll. The only issue I have with it is that in the RSS pages on safari, it's very jagged.

Remembering the classic Mac OS (TUAW.com)

Jul 16th 2005 1:09PM As a (more or less) recent convert to the world of Macs, I have no fond memories of Classic. About two years ago, I recieved a Powerbook 3400 and installed OS 9 on it. And it reminded me exactly why I didn't use Macs until X came out. I really think Classic is a terrible OS and is really the reason that Apple never got a whhole lot of market share. I have friends who will swear up and down that they can crash any mac in five minutes but when you sit them down in front of an iMac G4 they look confused as to where the Powermac 5400 that they used in school went. Right now, I am working for a school district that is retiring every mac it can find. And it's sad to see these wonderful old pieces of hardware go. Anything from a straight up Macintosh Classic, an SE/30, tons and tons of SE's, a million and a half iMac DV's and even all the way up to eMacs and the flat panel iMac G$'s. This is amazing machinery. But as we wipe all the drives, I am reminded why I didn't like Macs until X.
