Internet Explorer 9 RC released: Everything you need to know (Download Squad)

May 17th 2011 11:33AM It wasn't long after the release of IE9 that the IE10 preview came out.( http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/04/microsoft-releases-internet-explorer-10-platform-preview-1/ ) I guess there is a lot of competition. I wonder if IE will be moving up their launch cycles?

Skype for Linux gets an update after almost 15 months (Download Squad)

Apr 11th 2011 4:48AM I read that there are still a lot of bugs( http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/04/skype-5-3-released-offering-better-mobile-video-calls/) It could be because of the time in between updates. I do like the better video quality and how they made it easier to check your connections status.

Skype 5.3 for Windows released, improves mobile video call quality (Download Squad)

Apr 8th 2011 4:02AM I am glad that Skype improved the video quality. The only drawback is there are still some glitches (http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/04/skype-5-3-released-offering-better-mobile-video-calls/ ) that hopefully they will fix them on the next update.

Mozilla publishes name and shame list of slow Firefox add-ons, cracks down on tardy devs (Download Squad)

Apr 4th 2011 6:59AM I've noticed that uninstalling a few add-ons decreased loading times(like my SEO toolbar) and freed up some RAM but, didn't realize it was 10%.I like the idea that they will provide a warning for add-on toolbars. I never download these and always pay careful attention to any SUN install that I do(hey, they have to make money some how). We also wrote a post about some add-ons that improve the Firefox experience. You can check it out here:http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/04/10-great-add-ons-for-tweaking-customising-and-improving-firefox-4/
