Jul 15th 2005 9:23AM I think they're tweaking with the set every night, which is actually kind of nice since it shows they're listening. What they're listening to I'm not sure. Tonight's version was pretty ugly though. That yellow background was just too loud, although the inset graphics were clearer and larger. The city background during the guest segments seems, I dunno, Letterman-70ish? But I guess it's better than what they had the previous nights, which was basically turned TDS into a show about a huge scrolling "THE DAILY SHOW." What are those heads in front of the scroll, I can't see what follows DAILY!? Does it seem like Jon is becoming a little less "funny" and more actual political discussion? Maybe it's just the string of guests he's had. ?

Jul 15th 2005 9:17AM He'd know more than I, but I recently installed Ubuntu on a PC I had sitting around and I'm very impressed. There's a high learning curve in terms of getting specific hardware to work, networking with windows machines and printers, or installing programs that are not in ubuntu's update manager. I'm not a linux geek, but if it wasn't for games on XP I'd probably be using ubuntu all the time. But in terms of standalone usability, it's pretty fantastic.
