Dec 5th 2007 10:59AM It is so worth 100 achievement points. You should see what The Orange Box has made me do for 15, 20, and 30 points! :o)

Actually, I never got the last 40 for beating the game on Hard. I got 960/1000 on the normal setting and the 40 points did not appear to be incentive enough. Now, however, 140 points is worth it! Plus some new stuff to boot.

I never used the vita chambers when playing through before, so this should not be to bad for me. I did not like them as they destroyed the continuity of my game and made me feel out of sorts. Recommendation: SAVE SAVE SAVE! That's how I did it the first time.

Dec 2nd 2007 4:52AM Eh? You guys are crazy. I'm left handed and had no problems playing the game. Switching the controls would seem weird. I'm not sure why you deem the game unplayable - I have never had any problem adjusting to "right handed" controls schemes.

Typical of my luck. I've bought another video card and a new HD for a separate XP reinstall and it looks like nVidia has released a new set of drivers today:

Well I hunkered down last night and bought an ATI "Vista Certified" X1300 256MB and guess what? Same fps issue in WoW. I don't get it. There is a difference, however. iTunes will now play back my videos (it would not before) and flash-based video players are also working (they would not before).

Next step: Picking up a new hard drive today and installing XP on it. Anyone know how to set up a dual boot config? Thanks!

Stu - I've tried that one - it had the same problems. I'm thinking Ryan may be right and I just need to hunker down and get a series 7 card...I have read similar complaints regarding series 8 cards as well (the 8800c).

Ryan - I would love to know what driver you are using and what series you are using? The message boards over at Nvidia are replete with problems. I am using a 6 Series card. I've updated Direct X 9 and tried both the official release and beta release driver - to no avail.

Oblivion won't even run past the loading screen.

Feb 19th 2007 5:44PM I've been running Vista for 4 days now. While I love many of the new features, I would read up on how well your current hardware configuration is faring with the Vista related drivers.

I have an Nvidia 6800GTOC with 256 MB RAM which smoked on the XP flavor of my system. It now runs like molasses when it comes to 3-D Applications. Specifically, WoW runs .5 - 14 fps now - under XP it ran at 40-60 fps. There appears to be no remedy in sight.

Nov 9th 2006 6:29PM These sounds are very reminiscent of the subtle sounds in Sid Mier's Civilization IV. I for one welcome the subtleness. The error, notification, and others of Win XP grind on you after hearing them a thousand times.
