Microsoft's Bing iPhone app gets a big update, lots of new features (Download Squad)

Mar 21st 2010 6:17PM MS just doesn't get it! You don't try to 'lock-in" Mac people, they won't let you. Just make your software compelling! But I don't think the MS merchant culture will EVER get this...

Lego Cubestormer robot solves Rubik's Cube in sub-12 second whirlwind (video) (Engadget)

Feb 20th 2010 5:15PM Why hasn't anybody picked this up?
CubeStormer is a FAKE - watch closely, when hand takes finished cube away from robot you can clearly see that the whole movie is produced backwards! Cube wiggles (settles) before hand touches it. Still quite a feat to build a Lego machine with that sort of dexterity. However, the man's a fraud!

Oh no! Laptop Hunter ads return (TUAW.com)

May 7th 2009 6:57PM The new MacBooks DO NOT have FireWire - which makes them USELESS for work with a movie camera - full stop. If I want to do amateur video editing and want a Mac laptop I have to fork out $3000 plus. There you have the facts!

Sep 11th 2005 9:39PM What a dumb idea - I have always objected to loud speakers being a visual thing - hide them anyway you can! Apple, come to the rescue!

Apple's inconsistent interface (TUAW.com)

Sep 8th 2005 6:13PM I think Apple is on the right track! Who wants to get bored with their main Entertainment device? Always something new, always something different is just what we want from our favorite gizmo. The productive crowd can just stick with boring old Windows! No, no, we want to be part of the new generation of Time Wasters - the ultimate label of wealth. I have just recently disposed of my friends who stick with OS9 - what a bore!

Silly Survey Sunday: Have you upgraded to Tiger? (TUAW.com)

May 22nd 2005 6:21PM 10.4.1 clean install - instant dislike for Spotlight! A behemoth which takes over your Mac! Widgets ok - but would prefer to have mini-apps instead, with normal windowing behaviour (I know about the command-drag trick). Spotlight to me is a great nuiscance - Find File was plenty fast enough and very flexible to find anything I wanted - not so with SL - it doesn't list system stuff like hidden caches & temp files. If I can't turn off Widgets & Spotlight I will hang on to Panther. What really worries me are the security aspects of all the new stuff including Safari 2.0. Some bad moves there, Apple!
