Six kick-ass add-ons that already work with Firefox 4.0 (Download Squad)

Sep 29th 2010 11:19PM I've stuck with Firefox 4 Beta 1. Most of the add-ons broke after that. Makes me wonder whether most add-ons will just go to the deadpool. Maybe it's too tedious for add-on creators to make them work with Firefox 4.

Aug 26th 2010 9:30PM This is much different.

I've used every Firefox beta since Firebird. Add-ons could previously be fixed with an about:config hack or hacking the .rdf file to change the max version.

That won't work this time around. A total rewrite of the extension is required.

Aug 26th 2010 8:16PM that Add-On compatibility reporter is useless. I've got 14 add-ons and none of them work - with or without the Add-On compatibility reporter.

Aug 25th 2010 10:41PM Agree, this is the first time when you haven't been able to hack old extensions to work with a Firefox beta. Developers don't seem all that interested in updating their extensions - none of my 14 add-ons are compatible with Betas 2-4. I've been sticking with Firefox 4 Beta 1 because everything broke after that.
