Mar 14th 2012 1:56PM I hope game publishers are learning the same lesson TV show production companies learned when they started putting shows on DVD and their original music licenses had to be renegotiated, frequently forcing them to replace opening theme songs or major music. They've all adapted their contracts to include DVD and web use these days. Hopefully game publishers do the same with re-releases on future systems.
Mar 12th 2012 4:21PM @SlipknotFan Exactly what I was thinking. I've been waiting since day one for them to finally hit ANY of these games, and now I don't actively play them and just moved to a place where it's not really feasible. :(
Jan 30th 2012 12:19PM @KamiKaji I think you're rather confused. Your use of the word "anymore" implies that Zynga ever thought of anything original. They haven't, they don't, and that's not their business model. This isn't the last legs of a dying company trying to copy anything successful in order to survive a little longer. The entire company's business model is to copy other successful games and then market them better. You can read interview after interview with ex-employees, or even CURRENT employees, and find out that that's been their business model all along. This isn't a new move to try to cling on, it's what they've done from the beginning and how they got so big.
Dec 30th 2011 4:54PM Claiming the 3DS eShop uses "real currency" is a bit disingenuous. It's no more real than Wii points beyond the fact that it's displayed in figures that are more recognizable in real-world terms. But you still have to pre-pay in the same volumes as before, and since apps are prices in .99-cent endings, you end up with unusable change sitting in your account. I think my account has a balance of something like $3.02 right now. So it's not in any way an improvement over the points system.
Dec 23rd 2011 1:19AM @yab So... did you read the article, or just jump straight to the comments? This WAS released to non-Ambassadors, and updated for free for Ambassadors.
Dec 23rd 2011 1:14AM Does the Ridge Racer series exist for any reason other than to be rushed to an uncrowded launch lineup of a system anymore?
Sep 26th 2011 5:01PM @baby sea tuna I bought just such a cable from DealExtreme for my DSi for maybe $3 a couple of years ago. Same jack as the 3DS, same ability. So yes, definitely able to do this already without $30 accessories.
Sep 26th 2011 1:10PM @tendoboy1984 Protection plan? You seriously pay for a protection plan on your GAMES? I always wondered who Best Buy was suckering into those enough that they still offer them...
Sep 26th 2011 1:08PM Little confused here. Can someone explain what it is that they're being allowed to do on the PS3 that's odd? They're being allowed to use the Blu-ray disc to hold all the game's data? What's unusual about that? Or that they're being allowed to install much of it to the hard drive? That also sounds normal for PS3 games from what I understood. What part of this setup is unusual? I'm sure it's staring me in the face and I'm missing it, but I'm just trying to understand.
