HuddleChat is dead, long live Campfire (Download Squad)

Apr 9th 2008 8:52AM and here I thought it's free market, how wrong I was.

Hands-on with the Chumby (Engadget)

Aug 13th 2007 5:20PM taken from the ebay listing:

Q: Hi, I'm Steve Tomlin, the CEO of Chumby Industries. I don't really want to rain on the parade and am actually quite interested myself to know what a chumby proto would sell for :^) However, I"m legally obliged to point out that the alpha- prototype chumbys are not for resale because they are not FCC approved. We had to put a sticker on the inside of each prototype that states that. Hopefully the non-saleability of your chumby was communicated to you when you won it at FITC? Anyway, if you really don't want your chumby and if you'd prefer, I'd be happy to offer you the option of trading your chumby prototype in for a full-blown commercial chumby with all the trimmings when we launch this summer. Just let me know. 19-Jun-07
A: Hi Steve... Obviously I was unaware of that! Sorry..I'll end the auction as soon as I figure out how to. I noticed a lot of buzz around people wanting the get a hold of one so I thought I might profit from their excitement. I love my Chumby and have had fun showing to friends and students. If you are serious about the upgrade offer I will certainly take you up on that. I teach in a Web Design program and I am sort of the go to guy for gadgets. If I had a newer one it might impress more people...Again, my sincere apologies for the listing.

Parent Vs Parent: Raising children with religion (ParentDish)

Apr 5th 2007 11:34AM "I'm very aware of the fact that, these days, it is very mainstream to not have religion in your life. There are many people that love to point out all the faults of religion, especially Christianity, and will try to put doubt in my children's minds as they grow older."

There's so much wrong in that statement, you scare me. people started to not blindly believe because they finally start to think, faith is akin to blindly believing in whatever was told to you, hard habit to break, but nowadays more people can do and dare to do that and there's nothing about it being a trend or a mainstream as you cheapenly pointed out.

doubt makes people stop and think. faith doesn't. That's the problem with religion.

Jared's first swear word (ParentDish)

Jan 12th 2007 4:48PM wow, a punishment for just a swear word? why not just explain calmly that it's not appropriate thing to say? could even say the exact same thing like in this blog post, like not want him to sound like lowly hoodlums and all, instead of reacting like your son just kicked a dog, do you punish your son for not using the right grammar or pronounce the word wrong too? because that's exactly the same thing.

Video game child prodigy (ParentDish)

Sep 10th 2006 1:58PM I hope you are equally disturbed when there's news about child prodigy who practice piano for 6 hours a day, but I think you probably aren't.

if you asked me, music and art is as equally 'not academic' as playing game, but you probably don't think so, too.

Feeding a baby bananas instead of breastmilk? (ParentDish)

Aug 18th 2006 9:33AM is it wrong? I have been fed by mashed banana too, I look fine, not deformed or any major health problem, not even any allergies, A lot of thai kids has been fed by mashed banana too, it's just easiest baby food you can made, I'll bet it's better than canned baby food in the US.

NCsoft Austin shows 70 workers the door [update 1] (Joystiq)

Jun 24th 2006 7:24PM I don't believe that statement; they didn't lay off people because 'the company's getting too big' and 'slow down launch pattern', since people who got fired are GM, which they desperately need MORE, not LESS. CoH has around 4 GM left (third tier, I don't know about the rest) and L2 has 3 left. Any more are probably outsourced in India. Yay. I doubt the number of GMs has anything to do with 'slow down launch pattern'. The real reason is AA flopped, the end.

PC World says Apple's Pippin is the "worst" (Joystiq)

May 29th 2006 3:54AM hah, taking 'beating the dead horse' to the next level huh? isn't the title a bit misleading since too bad this little console isn't #1 the worst, guess who is?

Bluebell. Madonna. Halliwell. (ParentDish)

May 23rd 2006 7:59PM *sigh* Bluebell is a good name, as Lily, Rose AND *Apple* I don't understand the desire for everyone to be named the same. how many Karen is there? how many Paul is there? if the girl get 'butt whupped' in school then it shouldn't be her fault or her name's fault, it's like blaming bullied victim for appearing weak and becoming a target.
