Google adds 35 more Web fonts to Blogger (Download Squad)

Jan 21st 2011 8:46PM Thanks for the tip, Lee. I think I believed there were like five or six fonts in Blogger . . .

@marshmallow laBs. I'm also a pretty big fan of the new editor. On the other hand, I feel like I get bugged out on a regular basis. I'm unsure if it's Chrome, or what. For example, often when I go to insert pictures in my posts, the placement and formating goes bonkers. Maybe I'll try this draft.blogger login, as you suggest, so thanks for that.

Google Chrome dev gets password sync -- again (Download Squad)

Jan 21st 2011 9:18AM I hear you about custom search engines. Talking with Alex Chitu, it sounds like a big problem with sync on custom search engines is that the data comes from the browsing history. I asked how he figured that out and he suggested clearing the browsing history. I'm good, thanks!

HTML5 now has an official logo, looks oddly reminiscent of Superman's leotard (Download Squad)

Jan 18th 2011 10:51PM To be candid, I am reminded of Zelda Windwaker, when I see the shield, rather than Superman.

Is this some kind of secret Nintendo conspiracy for world domination, now that the Wii is becoming a has been?

Adobe initiative to let you easily clear 'Flash cookies' from your Mozilla or Google Web browser (Download Squad)

Jan 13th 2011 11:58AM Awesome, I'm looking forward to the simplification.

I definitely agree with you about how obscure LSO deletion (and the underlying concept) can be. I think the first time I ever learned about either was when Pandora wigged out on me recently and its help files suggested clearing the Flash LSO (and I was pretty confused about how to actually do the thing, even with Pandora's "help").

Google Chrome's tabbed options page now enabled by default (Download Squad)

Jan 12th 2011 4:00PM I think this may have been a glitch. I believe the icon's back to where it was before, in canary 10.0.636.0.

Google Chrome's tabbed options page now enabled by default (Download Squad)

Jan 11th 2011 10:32AM By the way, in canary 10.0.634.0, has your Chrome Web Store icon's position changed from the top right to somewhere else on the new tab page? If so, what significance do you think the change has beyond aesthetics?

Jan 11th 2011 10:26AM Do you think the "Options" entry will be changed to "Settings," like in Chrome OS (at least on the Cr-48)?

Google Docs now lets you stream video files you upload (Download Squad)

Jan 8th 2011 11:07AM @William Aleman. I'm with you on this one. I just tried uploading an MP3 to Docs and am at a complete loss on how to play it.

Activate specific windows in Windows 7 with a taskbar keyboard shortcut (Download Squad)

Jan 4th 2011 1:44PM Thanks for the tip, Erez. I feel like I live on keyboard shortcuts (and I think Windows has about 1M).

On a somewhat related note, I've really enjoyed the new keyboard on the Cr-48. On the other hand, I'm puzzled about why it lacks ctrl+home/end and ctrl+delete equivalents. For example, I can get to the end of a line of text by pressing ctrl+alt+down arrow. If I want to skip to the beginning/end of a text box/document, I'm hosed. Same goes for deleting entire words (I can just delete one letter at a time using alt+backspace).

Maybe you could put in a good word with the Chromium OS or Google devs (whichever's responsible), as I think my voice would sound in much softer . . .

Internet Explorer 9 beta downloaded more than 20 million times (Download Squad)

Jan 1st 2011 9:19PM I love how on the IE HTML 5 Blizzard test I get three snowflakes on Chrome 8.0.552.343 (Chrome OS 0.9.128.12, Cr-48) and 10.0.612.3 dev (Win 7, HP Pavilion), it fails to even work on 10.0.614.0 canary (same), and I get 845+ on IE9 beta (same).

It must be Chrome . . .

I enjoyed the jazzy tune, even though I was stung by the presumed slight.
