Rumor: Apple testing MacBook Air with A5 processor (TUAW.com)

May 27th 2011 9:41AM It won't be A5. It's too slow. It will be A6 if they want it out before Windows for ARM, and it should score 1500-2000. Otherwise, it will be A7 in 2013 or end of 2012. But it won't be A5, it's just for testing. Why would they put a chip in a Macbook air that's alreay been for 6 months in iPad 2 so it's sort of obsolete? If anything they'll use an ARM chip generation that goes first in such a Macbook Air, second in iPad, and later in iPhone.

Samsung announces 2560 x 1600 display, could pave the way for iPad 3 (TUAW.com)

May 13th 2011 6:58AM Sorry, but a 10.1" with 2560x1600 resolution makes no sense for an iPad. The iPad is 9.7" and if they doubled the resolution like they did for the iPhone 4, it would have 2048x1536 resolution. That's a 16:10 display, and it's what Android tablets use. Also that's the maximum resolution Tegra 3 supports. The 10.1" size should say everything, too.

Report: iAds surging against Android (TUAW.com)

Feb 18th 2011 9:27PM First of all, this is a very misleading heading..Medialet doesn't serve "iAds" - only Apple does. Second, this is just for Medialets, which means Admob, which is owned by Google, is probably starting to get a lot more customers.

Aug 7th 2010 10:15AM Here are 7 hints about Android 3.0 from what I gathered from Lifehacker's interview with Android's Product Manager:

Nokia's app development strategy: Qt, Qt, Qt (video) (Engadget)

Aug 5th 2010 10:33AM @MagnetMan In what is Nokia's hardware 1 generation ahead of everyone else? Camera? Maybe. But only a small percentage of people care about the increase in megapixels after the 5 mps mark, which is good enough for most ppl and most purposes.

In everything else they are no better or worse than everyone else

Nokia's app development strategy: Qt, Qt, Qt (video) (Engadget)

Aug 5th 2010 10:22AM @AKBlade13 Even if that's a huge mistake long term? And their market share will drop in half because of that? Just because they invested in the wrong decision doesn't mean they shouldn't kill it if it's going to lead to the downfall of their company. They should do the right move.

Microsoft becomes official ARM licensee, could an MS microprocessor be next? (Engadget)

Jul 23rd 2010 10:12AM This is to optimize Windows 8 for it. They know a lot of ARM tablets are coming and they want to have Windows on them, but they can't because Windows 7 only works on Atom, and Atom is not exactly popular in mobile markets. They need to make next Windows work on ARM.

Samsung Captivate coming to AT&T on July 18 for $200 (Engadget)

Jul 8th 2010 1:39PM @zuluedison Have you checked out the specs of the 2 phones? The Samsung phone must be at least 2x better in each area. The extra 70$ is definitely worth it, esp since it's nothing compared to the $2000+(i assume) you'll be spanding over 2 years on contract.
