Dec 22nd 2010 1:45PM With Dish I can now do 30-sec skips and I'll usually do that for car, insurance, dept store, etc ads. At other times I'll FF through them but if something catches my eye then I'll go back and watch the whole ad, because some ads are fun AND informative. And heaven help you if you're on Cartoon Network or Boomerang because every commercial break they do that bully sketch PSA and I'm all over the 30-sec skip for that!

And while I'm here, yes, the Apprentice is SOOO over, I think I stopped watching when it became clear it was about his grown kids.

Nov 30th 2010 4:03PM The show's slow pacing and stingy reveals recalls the now cancelled "RubiCON" (AMC). I don't care whether or not it returns. If it does, fine, I'll follow it if there's nothing better on, but I'm using the FF button alot on it and that's not good. "V" is returning, too, and I look much more forward to it and its promise of episode-by-episode reveals.

1. Prof Frink's use of FF on the DVR and it going too fast reaching the end, how many times has that happened to us ?!
2. The monster parody of "The Office", just great.

And then they're running through the slightly warped names of popular board games to avoid trademark violations, too funny.

Nov 3rd 2010 12:45PM Well Bob, this lineup is exactly what I'd expect since it's proven SUCCESSFUL elsewhere and that's what a new network needs off the bat is to be successful. Later, she can do more experimental things.

Remember back in 1984-ish when the Fox network debuted ? It started off with typical fare at the time, a teen-based drama ("21 Jump St") and a sitcom ("Married with Children"), and it turned out pretty well.

Oct 29th 2010 3:07PM I hope AMC does better with this than they did with "RubiCON" which doubled as a sleep aid. My interest in vampires, werewolves, and zombies died long ago in childhood so hopefully this series will succeed on plot and themes than on the more obvious decaying elements.
