Report: Mulally says Ford may pare global lineup to just 20 models (Autoblog)

Sep 29th 2010 1:32PM No they're not. I surprised that anyone's still under the impression that Ford took any bailout money. Ford recovered on it's own without Government help.

Sony NEX-VG10 HD camcorder preview (Engadget)

Jul 16th 2010 10:20AM @psychoace

1080/60i means that it takes 60 fields per second instead of frames per second... each field is half high resolution, one field containing the even lines and the other contains the odd lines... Each field becomes 1920x540. When they're played back, they're actually considered 30 full frames per second. On older CRT HD TV's that displayed 1080i before 1080p became popular in the LCDs, that's what they actually were displaying, 1080/60i. And that's what my 5 yr old HDR-HC1 records in. Give me 24p in this camera, sony!

Sony issues NEX-VG10: first interchangeable lens HD Handycam camcorder (Engadget)

Jul 15th 2010 9:51AM I was soooo tempted, until i realized that it doesn't shoot 24p. I shoot some short films, and have used my HDR-HC1, but that cam is 5 years old now, and 60i->24p conversions take up a lot of time. I really want an affordable lightweight cam with a large sensor that shoots 24p natively. I guess right now i'm just gonna keep holding out for the RED scarlet, or see what panasonic's cam offers. Sony coulda had an instant win with me if it just did 24p.

Poll: Mazda2 versus Ford Fiesta (Autoblog)

Jun 26th 2010 1:22PM @Kitko

A few of Ford's current models are built in Mexico, and they top the 2010 Initial Quality Study. Where it's built clearly doesn't make the difference. I'd go with a Ford over any import any day.

Jun 15th 2010 10:21AM It would be nice if I could just say "Xbox, on" to turn on the xbox. Looks like that's still gonna need a remote or i'd have to get up and turn it on...

Microsoft tweaks Windows Phone Marketplace policies for the better (Engadget)

Jun 8th 2010 10:09AM @iamnotjamesh With exception of the iPhone, marketing has been mostly done by the carriers. The droid campaign was verizon's doing, not motorola's. You see verizon pushing the droid incredible more (HTC) these days, because it's newer. Like verizon put all the android based handsets under the droid moniker didn't matter the OEM. Maybe they'll do something similar for the WP7's.
