Is This the World's Most Foolproof Pick-Up Line? (Lemondrop)

Dec 17th 2010 2:44AM Ha! I'm told I look like Vivien Leigh - the my lips are exactly like hers. Some people say Jean Simmons, and some people think I look like Hedy Lamar. I can see what they mean about Vivien and Jean, but I don't think I bear any resemblance whatsoever to Hedy Lamar.

Feb 22nd 2010 3:00PM Imagine you have an autistic child.
Now imagine someone making fun of that
child on national TV.
Imagine the rest of the world saying
it's satire. Imagine how you would feel.
I don't believe you would be defending this
insensitive jerk if the child were yours.

The Greatest African American (News Bloggers)

Jan 20th 2008 1:56PM Neither Catholicism nor demonic possession are mentioned in Dinesh's article.
I'm not sure how they got into the discussion, though I shouldn't wonder since,
no matter the subject, someone will find a tangential way to bring religion into
play in order to try to prove their beliefs are more important and truthful than
those of other posters.

Demonic possession does exist, and there are multiple sources which you can
check which will prove the veracity of that statement. Since you seem to place
such a high priority on education, or at least the education as it pertains to
religious matters, then you would do well to educate yourself in the matters of
religion before you spout off about religious practices, beliefs and customs. If you're going
to believe education is a large part of belief, then at least admit that religion is part
of education which you have chosen to dismiss.

"Being an exorcist is one thing and the saying demonic spirits obeyed Jesus are
different." How? Jesus commanded demons to leave the bodies of various individuals
mentioned in the New Testament, which summarily happened. That you weren't
there to see it doesn't make it false.

Your claim that the New Testament is made up do not have any basis in fact
is a false claim, a statistic made up by you, on the this spot, to debunk an afterlife.
The belief in Jesus and demonic possession is not unique to the Catholic
faith. If you were so well-versed in matters of religion, you would know that.

Indian Man Literally Marries a Bitch (News Bloggers)

Nov 17th 2007 6:48PM Somber:

In the beginning (oops, a Biblical phrase), this thread was about a man who married a dog, but, as is usually the case in forums, someone will tangentially go off on religion.

I have not checked the statistics on how *often* the Christian groups are trying to ban certain groups in high schools, but I will grant you it happens not only in high schools, but in universities as well. However, have either conveniently forgotten or chosen to ignore there is a proliferation of atheistic groups, all of which are backed by the ACLU, NAMBLA as well as GLBT, who work as tirelessly and as diligently against Christianity, even to the point of successfully bringing about the desuetude of the words "Merry Christmas," "Happy Hanukkah," in favor of the words "Happy Holidays." There are no creches displayed in any public places, no menorahs, or anything suggesting God. On the newly-minted dollar,
the words "In God We Trust" are blatantly absent. Your girlfriend must feel the effects of these persecutions as much as you feel persecuted for your belief. I think it's safe to say we are no longer free to worship as we please, though I still hold that religion, when practiced without fundamental hysteria, is not bad for society.

The latest atheistic wonder of the world is Philip Pullman; the short form of his agenda is his hatred of Christianity, God, C.S. Lewis and all forms of Christianity. If you aren't already familiar with his iconoclastic ideologies, you can Google him and get all the information you desire.

Regarding our religions being forced upon those in the Middle East, not so. What is so, and what the terrorists have stated (Google), is for there to be peace in the world, we must all convert to Islam.
I ain't gonna do that - :) I'm going to continue worship as I please, say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or any other form of holiday greeting which honors God, display my creche, and respect the rights of others to *not* to feel as I do.

That all being said, I wish you and your girlfriend the very best and hope your relationship continues to grow in love, peace and understanding - cuz that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Indian Man Literally Marries a Bitch (News Bloggers)

Nov 15th 2007 12:52PM Somber: You'd be "far better served" if you were able to understand what you read. The thrust of my post was not religion; naturally, though, let the word "Christianity" (you didn't mention Judiasm, did you -)be in print and someone's hackles will be raised, statements will be exaggerated, as they were in your post.
It will never be illegal for you to be gay, not even in a Christian America. You know that.
