The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Demon Hand - VIDEO (AOL TV)

Feb 26th 2008 1:32PM Your viewing figures confuse me as the ratings i have seen have been (Monday Slot only)

Ep2 - 10.07mill
Ep3 - 8.65mill
Ep4 - 8.84mill
Ep5 - 8.34mill
Ep6 - 8.09mill

It had built on Prison Breaks viewers each week, Prison Break which has been doing around 7.5mill

Interesting while it built on Prison Breaks lead in, this week with moment of truth as a lead in which had a million more viewers than Prison Break the figures were

Ep7 - 7.12mill

Almost a million down on last week, Maybe its just that Moment of Truth Viewers arent people who would watch Terminator while Prison Breaks were more likely to hang around and maybe moment of truth scared viewers away from the network and they never looked back but who knows

FOX gives OK to $10 million JJ Abrams pilot (AOL TV)

Jan 17th 2008 6:32PM I think theres a chance the pilot may have already been written. After all this announcement isnt a shock one as its been known that this pilot had been pitched for a fair amount of time (before the strike started), all that remained to be seen was would the pilot be greenlit (fairly obvious with JJ attached) and how much the budget would be.

Obviously this wont help after the pilot is produced AND it may present problems when its being shot as they will not be able to tinker with it but there may very well be something to shoot.

FOX gives OK to $10 million JJ Abrams pilot (AOL TV)

Jan 17th 2008 5:18PM It wasnt so much that JJ got bored with alias but rather the development of Lost meant he didn't have the time to be as hands on.

As for Lost being hindered by him being too busy, he really hasn't been involved that much since season 1. Alias got him the mi:iii gig, then he shows such as What About Brian and Six Degrees which werent really his shows but were from his stable and he had to do some work on them (Trying to sort Six Degrees out last season was one of the reasons his planned return to Lost to direct a couple of episodes didnt happen). So if you are one of the many people who hasn't noticed his lack of involvement already you wont do now either

BBC iPlayer to leave beta, ridiculous DRM lives to fight another day (Download Squad)

Dec 13th 2007 12:57PM Its not really state funded per say. The point of the licence fee is that its not directed funded by the government and as such can never be used as a governmental propaganda tool.

As for the DRM issue, I really dont see the problem. The DRM is largely there to prevent those outside the UK who dont pay the licence fee from freely watching the content. Its much the same as what we see on hulu, the network sites and services like joost which prevent those of us in the UK watching the US shows

Strike update: It doesn't look good (AOL TV)

Dec 8th 2007 7:41AM CNBC reported the average pay of a working WGA writer is $204k a year and apparently the latest offer ups that to $230k.

The WGA have stated how its misleading though as it only takes into account the WGA members who worked in a year and apparently half the members dont work in a year which makes the median pay $5k. Although I think personally this is misleading personally as I dont think including people who dont work in a year is really fair.

Strike Update: Return of the Assistants (Cinematical)

Nov 10th 2007 8:10PM @the_boo

So they only sell one script a year for $20k. This may not be a massive amount but its no worse than alot of workers connected to the 'film' industry will be getting and these other workers don't receive any residuals at all.

Now I'm not saying that the writers dont deserve receive more for their work but they aren't at the bottom of the hollywood foodchain and the writers action are effecting people who get get an even rawer deal than the writers do and the longer the writers stay away its only going to get worse for them. These people certainly don't deserve to be mocked if they aren't happy with the situation the writers have left them in and shouldn't be hounded by the writers and their supporters for going in and doing their job like I've read elsewhere is sometimes happening

As for the letter I doubt its real. It seems like one of those fake letters used to make a point, something I think it does pretty well

BBC iPlayer moves to the web to support Mac and Linux (Download Squad)

Oct 16th 2007 5:42PM How can 4OD be vastly superior to iPlayer when the applications themselves (as well as Skys Anytime service) are actually the same

Kid Nation: Deal With It (AOL TV)

Oct 4th 2007 9:24PM I don't personally think Taylor is all that bad. All the council have aspects of leadership they excel in and aspects they struggle with (and its the same for adults in the real world) and in Taylors case she struggles with the people skills side of leadership and as such struggles to motivate people BUT she shows a fantastic level of decision making and foresight that puts many adults in leadership positions to shame.

As for Greg, in episode 2 I would have been happy to see them reward him the gold star but in episode 3 he showed why he doesn't deserve one no matter how hard he works. When he acts out like he does he shouldnt be rewarded and if he was it not only sends a bad message to him but others and I hope the council dont reward him until he proves himself to have learnt to behave better

My final thought, while Gregs being made out to be the trouble maker the real villain to me seems to be Sophia. She really is coming across as a nasty piece of work with the way she seems to constantly be trying to stir things up and start witch hunts

Survivor: China gets lowest premiere ratings in show's history (AOL TV)

Sep 21st 2007 4:53PM I read on other sites that despite the fairly good ratings that TVSquad reported that Kid Nation and Kitchen Nightmares did that they weren't exactly stellar ratings especially in the key demo's

If this is so then it will be interesting to see ratings across the board in the coming weeks as the lower than expected ratings so far could be a sign for things to come. After all it was widely reported that the second half of last season saw 25% less people regularly watching broadcast tv and it could be lower ratings are the norm (no doubt due to the many different ways we can all view our favourite shows now)

Coupling producer rips into Jeff Zucker (AOL TV)

Jul 14th 2007 1:35PM The aired episode did suck but then so did the first episode of the us office. Both had the problem of basically taking the UK script and re filming it which could have been where the problem was.

If it had been given a chance to find its feet and its own identity maybe it would have gone on to be a critical success like the office has
