What do you expect from Thursday? (TUAW.com)
Mar 3rd 2008 9:38AM I expect WPA Enterprise support finally - 802.1x is sorely missing...
Lenovo X300 gets benchmarked, shown off on video (Engadget)
Feb 22nd 2008 1:03PM Funny... I have the opposite perspective. I was a diehard thinkpad lenovo fan for the longest time - I wouldn't use a laptop if it didn't have a trackpoint etc - but now I have both an x41t and an MBA and it's really not a fair comparison. While the hardware on the x300 may be superior (wireless options, optical, etc) - the user interface provided through osx makes using the laptop much more enjoyable.
Why not install osx86 on the x300 you ask? You're welcome to and it will probably give you 90% hardware compatibility but I and many others are willing to pay for that extra 10% (speaking from experience, I have my x41t running 10.4.10 with full tablet support).
Ubuntu/other distros are another story entirely..
/my 3 cents.
Lenovo's upcoming X300 ultraportable leaked by Best Buy (Engadget)
Feb 8th 2008 12:52PM To give perspective: I have an x41t and recently purchased an MBA/ssd
I saw the x300 before I purchased the MBA... and was rather impressed by the specs. However I do not regret my purchase. I wanted an ultraportable Mac and before you say 'why don't you load osx86 onto the x300?' ... I've done that on my x41t, I've become intimately familiar with hacking kexts and so forth... it's not worth it. I'm willing to pay extra to run OSX on well supported and designed hardware.
Granted I had higher expectations of the ssd, but it'll do.
MacBook Airs shipping (TUAW.com)
Jan 29th 2008 2:32PM Ordered mine shortly after the keynote. No shipment email yet. (1.8/64ssd)
I'm wondering if the SSD is holding up shipping on the upgraded versions. All of the press/reviewer models have been the base 1.6/80gb.

Now off to play with objC instead of doing actual work.

TUAW poll: How much iPhone data have you used? (TUAW.com)
Jul 19th 2007 7:44PM 18MB sent
173MB recieved
As a phone it's 'ok'
As an ipod it's 'ok'
As a portable internet device - I absolutely love it.
GMobileSync: Sync Google Calendar with a Windows Mobile device (Download Squad)
Jan 6th 2007 7:17PM Not that I still maintain this project - but I've had working 2-way sync with google calendar for over 4 months now. =P
The necessary link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/l-dopa/
I'll email the dev's on this project to see if my code will be of any help.
Toshiba's WiFi-screen Tablet PC laptop (Engadget)
Jan 7th 2006 3:35PM #9: I own a tablet as well (small convertible) and one big advantage I could see for this is being able to use slate-functionality without having to take the entire system out of a case or bag. I'd much rather carry a .3" thick screen that weighs < 1 kg than the full-size tablet that is 1" and weighs 2 kg+.
This technology seems like the next logical extension of the tablet pc interface.
