Apple tops consumer satisfaction survey again (TUAW.com)

Sep 25th 2010 10:34AM absolutely no way were vista users more satisfied than windows 7.

this data is totally wrong.

Move-It: the stick-on recyclable cardboard trolley (video) (Engadget)

I guess I just don't get it... this is just one more thing to use a time or two then try and recycle. We have come to be a use it and toss it society. The energy resources used nowadays to build all of this disposable crap is just totally irresponsible for life on earth.

Why the F not just buy a fold-able dolly and have it the rest of your life.

fucking ass-hole executives - they are almost all corrupt.

Oncor's 'Take a Load Off, Texas' campaign offers Dallas residents smarter thermostats (Engadget)

Jul 10th 2010 9:18AM I have two AC units so for me that's $215.76 / year.

My 14 year old smart thermostats are doing the pre-cooling trick already.

Obviously to replace the electromechanical wheel on the iPod.

Cisco unveils Cius Android tablet with HD video capabilities (update: video!) (Engadget)

Jul 3rd 2010 10:33AM Cisco & Apple -
Two companies that price their products up in the rip-off range. Their stuff works works well in the internet world... but there are alternatives that work better if you look. Popularity is often driven by the amount of marketing dollars thrown at the problem - and both of these companies have huge amounts of cash in the bank. That said... I've worked for Cisco and own a lot of Apple toys... but have no plans to buy Cisco anything for home use - it's just way too expensive for what you ever get.

Fraunhofer developing bike helmets (and other products) that stink when damaged (Engadget)

Jun 5th 2010 9:02AM good idea - just a bad tip indicator.

i'd rather see something that changes the color of the helmet, ie, a nice manly blue helmet turns girly pink and says "damaged goods" when it's damaged. that would at least give him the correct incentive to buy a new helmet.

why don't these inventors think like me :)

Gateway gets snazzy with glowing touchpads on EC39C and ID49C08u laptops (Engadget)

Jun 5th 2010 8:53AM it smells like a really bad battery-sucking marketing idea to me.

i don't see any advantage to a pad that essentially flickers when i use it. computer interfaces need a purpose to succeed and what's the purpose here? give us lighted keys !!!

Audi shows off Travolution vehicle-to-infrastructure communication system (update: video!) (Engadget)

Jun 5th 2010 8:39AM i am a network engineer and have been wanting to see this since the early eighties. it really makes sense to network all vehicles with the traffic infrastructure.

we've all experienced the stupid feeling of sitting at a red light with no one around. at least with a manual stop sign our brain has some control - but with an electronically controlled stop light our destiny is in the control of a dumbed down timing circuit. that is about as bad a technology implementation as i've ever seen. it's almost as bad as obama's plans.

Printable prescription drugs heading to a pharmacy near you? (Engadget)

Jun 5th 2010 8:10AM bad idea.

i am more worried if i'll remember what that purple pill contains that i got six months ago. i travel a lot and move pills from their bottles into a daily pill case. now, at least i can go back and match them to the original pills. if they start mixing my meds into a single pill and my doctor changes the prescription on one... then i have to toss the whole batch and start with yet another pill mix. this could cost us all a lot of money.

my guess is that obama will push something as stupid as this into his new health care. go obama... you've done so well so far.
