5 very basic things Windows 7 still isn't any good at (Download Squad)
Nov 10th 2008 8:11PM I for some godforsaken reason need to adjust my clock in Vista at least every few weeks, or it gets a few minutes behind.
I have no idea why. This happened when i had online syncing activated, and still happens when I have it deactivated. It wouldn't be a huge deal, except i use media centre for my tv viewing and PVR-ing, and when the time is off by a few minutes it gets annoying.
Laptops can be confiscated and searched at US border without cause says report (Engadget)
Aug 1st 2008 8:37PM I'm from Canada and have to travel down to the US for a wedding in November. I was going to bring my laptop down there to hang out online in the hotel, but now I'm not. No, I don't have anything to hide, it's just one more thing that could be a hassle at the airport. Already I've learned never to fly with pants that use a belt to hold them up, or with lace-up shoes. It simply takes too long to take those things off, scan them, and put them on again. Hassle. I will be travelling with my ipod touch, and a thought comes to mind: In Canada, it's not illegal for me to have copies of movies I own on DVD on there (yet). If it gets taken in the US and they find those movies on there, what happens?
Finally, this post has resulted in some of the best (and worst) comments I've ever read on engadget. Kudos to all you people fighting for your lost rights through organisations like the EFF. Some of the best things that your country has done have originated with 'the people'.

Jun 4th 2008 10:36AM Not only just blu-ray discs are coming with a digital copy, the 'special edition' of juno i bought the other week came with an access code to unlock a digital copy of the movie from within itunes. so for $19.99 i got the special edition dvd (with extras, and commentary... things that are NOT included when you pay the same price for a copy of the movie from the iTMS), and a digital copy sitting pretty on my ipod.
yeah, this scheme makes perfect sense...
