Oct 7th 2010 10:44PM I've been looking into this recently. Handbrake makes it too difficult to do any sort of bulk operations (you need to write your own script to do it). Also, handbrake doesn't support tagging so you need another app to tag the shows once you rip them to mp4.The best I have found is iFlicks which I've been using for a couple of days. You just drag your avi files into the app and it looks up all the metadata online and then converts and tags the video. There are places for both Handbrake and iFlicks. Handbrake is great if you want full control of the output and high quality video. For speed, ease of use and bulk transcoding iFlicks would be my choice.Note: Not affiliated with iFlicks in any way, just discovered it a few days ago when surfing around for a solution to pretty much the exact problem listed above.
Aug 12th 2010 7:04PM This is awesome news! I was actually considering jailbreaking my iPhone just so I could use the grooveshark iPhone app! I've downloaded it and will be playing around with soon. Any idea how much bandwidth is used for each song? What bit rate do they come across at?
May 18th 2010 5:48PM I just tried to sign up (I'm in Australia) and got the following message (which I haven't seen before):"It looks like you're accessing Spotify from outside our launch territiories. In order to buy Spotify premium, you will need a credit card that has been issued in one of our launch territories (i.e. Finland, France, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden or United Kingdom). As a Spotify Premium user you will have be able to use Spotify when you travel for an unlimited time period."Aside from the spelling mistake (territories) and typo ("you will have be able") this is looking fairly promising, saves worrying about logging in through a proxy regularly, of course you need a credit card from one of the listed countries.
Mar 15th 2010 5:21PM I find it very useful that the iPhone works through plastic. When I go out fishing with my dad I stick the iPhone in a plastic zip-lock bag before putting it in my pocket. The touchscreen works great through the bag and if for some reason I went overboard my iPhone would be safe and dry within the bag.I assume the audio wouldn't work well through the bag although I haven't tried. Texting works great though.
Feb 23rd 2010 3:35PM I'm also only seeing beta 2 available for download.
