Rumor: Xbox Dashboard update to add 1GB of DVD storage (Joystiq)

Report: 3DS components cost about $100 (Joystiq)

Mar 28th 2011 11:15PM Don't worry, once the NGP comes out this thing will seem cheap.

EA Sports abandons paper manuals, goes digital (Joystiq)

Mar 21st 2011 8:32PM OK. So how about the dolphins they save by not printing the manual can allow them to put more plastic back in the shell?

Lack of a manual is fine (who reads them anyway?) but the "green" (read: cheaper to make and ship) disc holders are lame and feel wanky.

THQ stock drops 25 percent in one day on Homefront launch (Joystiq)

Mar 16th 2011 11:16AM Unfortunately for publishers, unlike the movie industry, people actually read game reviews and use that as a basis for their decision.

If I can spend $60 on Fallout and play it for 75 hours, or $60 on a FPS with a 4 hour storyline, that's a no brainer. Even with glitches.

Report: Doom movie reboot in the works at Universal (Joystiq)

Mar 11th 2011 10:10PM The reboot window for movies is getting so short, eventually they'll reboot films not even made yet, at which point we'll actually get new movies.

Batman: Arkham City opens up for tourism October 18 (Joystiq)

Mar 11th 2011 12:18PM Jeez, another triple A game to buy this fall. First one was amazing, sure this one will be even better.

Microsoft: 10 million Kinect units, Kinect games sold (Joystiq)

Mar 9th 2011 7:47PM Amazing - when you actually produce enough of something, more people can buy it! Nintendo, are you listening?

Granted, it will cause it to "fad out" faster but still - make hay while the sun shines.

XBLIG facts: Nazi-killing a no-no, revenue a yes-yes (Joystiq)

Mar 6th 2011 5:21PM Imagine if they had this rule for Zombies. 95% of the titles would disappear.

Battlefield 3's executive producer, on balancing realism in Frostbite 2 (Joystiq)

Mar 2nd 2011 11:00AM Console: 256 meg video, 256 RAM.

Average PC: 4 gigs RAM, 512 meg video. With 1 gig video being very, very affordable.

The 360's CPU is still very beefy, but RAM is the big bottleneck. Your average PC has SIXTEEN TIMES more. Granted, OS eats a lot, but it's still not even close.

If these consoles insist on going past the typical 5 year cycle, then at least let the PC games finally blow open their potential and leave them in the dust. Battlefield 3 = day 1, not even reading reviews purchase.

Bethesda proves it's really serious about Skyrim baby name contest (Joystiq)

Feb 23rd 2011 12:19AM Really, Dovahkiin isn't as bad as a lot of the names celebrities give their kids. It could at least pass for being middle eastern or Norwegian... unlike, say "Moon Unit" or "Honor Warren".
