Open Document Plugin for Word 97-2007 proves Microsoft wrong (Download Squad)

Jan 28th 2007 4:10PM Who cares? Everyone I know uses Microsoft Office and that's the file format we exchange files in. XML word processing documents are for catchphrase-addicted losers.

Windows trojan horses outnumber viri and worms 4 to 1 (Download Squad)

Jan 24th 2007 4:39PM STFU, it's viruses, pedant. And don't even dream of citing Wikipedia in a dispute over grammar or word forms. That's like asking for career advice outside a methadone clinic.

iPhone: does Cisco miss out due to prior art? (Engadget)

Jan 13th 2007 6:22PM Why do people who know nothing about trademark law feel compelled to opine on the likely outcome of this issue? That includes Engadget writers.

Safari browser to come to Windows? (Download Squad)

Jan 13th 2007 3:59PM Are you high? This makes utterly no sense. Opera, Firefox, and IE7 are all better than Safari, which is crap. Who in the world would use this? No one. It would have all the marketshare of Lynx.

Microsoft leaving Windows 2000 users out in the cold (Download Squad)

Dec 18th 2006 5:15PM Jesus this complaint is dumb. It's obviously a QA cost issue. Besides, what do you ABM people care? You hate Microsoft and won't upgrade to a new OS you might have to (shudder) pay for, but you still want to run this software. Why? I cannot even imagine going back to Win2K. Fine in its day, inadequate now. Server 2003 and XP are well beyond it in stability and features.

Just use OpenOffice and some crappy Norton program on your imaginary Windows box. No one cares.

What I'm thankful for: Gmail (Download Squad)

Nov 25th 2006 11:19PM Sorry, but Outlook Web Access predates Gmail by years and runs rings around it in the Web 2.0 arena (it's virtually indistinguishible from Outlook when using IE 5.5+). I hate the ignorance that assumes Gmail was somehow pioneering in Web 2.0 functionality when it is anything but. Microsoft was innovating in this area before Gmail was a spark in anyone's eye.

Of course it runs off of Exchange but that is no excuse for rewriting history (and is a good excuse for using Exchange email services).

Evolution: Outlook replacement, now for Windows (Download Squad)

Nov 7th 2006 6:02PM Let's face it, almost all open source software meticulously copies either Microsoft or Apple, both the interface and the functionality. That's about all open source programmers are capable of doing: taking other people's ideas and giving them away.

Microsoft Office ready for download on December 1st (Download Squad)

Nov 7th 2006 5:56PM There will always be a downmarket for poor college students and tightwads. Office is for people who are a bit more demanding of software design and efficiency.

Comedy Central yanks clips from YouTube (Download Squad)

Oct 27th 2006 11:39PM Hey, moron. These shows do offer clips on their sites.

America's Next Top Web Browser (Download Squad)

Oct 27th 2006 12:55AM It's great that Firefox has become the new Mac--i.e., it's users are tiresome blowhards who never stop blabbing to the profoundly uninterested about how it will change their world and give them bigger penises. Please, just go away.
