Jul 4th 2005 7:59PM I think there has been a distinct shortage of creative, intelligent filmmaking. I really haven't found much reason to go to the movies. It seems that everything is either a rehashing of something old, a part of a whole, or crap. And, unfortunately, sometimes it's all three. I think Hollywood needs to learn the lesson that so many other industries have struggled to learn: people can tell what a quality product is. If you hold yourself to a higher standard, people notice and respond. Maybe instead of making movies that cater to the lowest common denominator they should expect more of movie goers.
