May 22nd 2011 3:32PM What caused it is probably Apple's greed and exploitation of Chinese cheap labor. Them wanting to own production, own supply, control demand, maximize profits and minimize expense.I'm not suggesting Apple invented the idea to "Make in China", or that Apple is the only one making in China. I just think that if Apple wants to bloat about themselves being the biggest brand in consumer electronics, they should also have extra more responsibility towards the working conditions for the workers in China, and they should voluntarily suggest that the consumer electronics industry should pay the Chinese workers a larger share of the global CE industry profits. This way Chinese workers can get better salaries, better working conditions, shorter working hours, more holidays and better worker safely.
Feb 2nd 2011 4:09PM Where is the FULL video of this Android event?
Jan 19th 2011 9:42AM Apple did retina on iphone4 not by choice, but because samsung wouldn't give apple the exclusivitg on super amoled, so they had to go to LG and ask them for an exclusive screen, no matter what, it should just be usable as an argument to keep the price as high as possible.
Aug 18th 2010 4:15PM Pixel Qi 10" capacitive wide view anti-glare would be the only right choice for them to use. Cause then the tablet includes full Google Editions/Google Books access, has 50 hours battery runtime and has a readable screen of same quality as e-ink Kindle DX type. All the while backlight switch fully activates full color mode that's just the same as on an ipad.
Aug 15th 2010 8:22PM @majortom333, Archos has released 18 firmware updates in the past 11 months since release and they are releasing a hardware update during the next few weeks. Archos is better for video playback, which is one of the two top most important features of such a tablet, video and web browsing.
Aug 15th 2010 4:24PM @jayayess1190 You can get Archos Android Tablets for around $200 that are WiFi only and with no contracts. Archos also has much better video codecs support and storage options up to 500GB. And Archos is coming with their next generation of cheap unlocked Android Tablets in the weeks to come.
Aug 15th 2010 4:21PM @boofay You can get a cheap Android tablet with WiFi and then target at getting one of those cheap $25/month/10GB Mifi routers in your other pocket that last 10 hours on a battery, like that one on Sprint, MetroPCS, Cricket or how it's called.
Aug 15th 2010 4:18PM Archos 5 Internet Tablet is better than this, has better video support and is shipping for $219 without any subscription contracts required: http://www.jr.com/archos/pe/AHS_501308/

Aug 12th 2010 10:51AM @vkelman It's been perfectly stable with the Google Marketplace since January or so. In the beginning it had trouble keeping RAM available when many apps were opened but they fixed that long ago in a firmware update. It's not really a hack, the Google Marketplace and Google Apps just do take up some space in RAM.
