Epic: Consoles must be 'bleeding edge' in next generation (Joystiq)
Mar 12th 2012 4:17PM This is just Mark Rein's weaselly way of saying "No way in hell we're making anything for a Nintendo system." It's the same old song we've been hearing from Epic for years.
A waka waka down memory lane: the 1982 Pac-Man cartoon (Joystiq)
Mar 3rd 2012 4:19PM @Ericss No, it's much, much worse.
A waka waka down memory lane: the 1982 Pac-Man cartoon (Joystiq)
Mar 3rd 2012 4:05PM @The Tim Thank goodness, eh? (Not to say that the 3D Pac-Man cartoon was going to be any better, mind.)
A waka waka down memory lane: the 1982 Pac-Man cartoon (Joystiq)
Mar 3rd 2012 4:02PM That frozen frame reminds me of the new 3D Pac-Man cartoon that apparently never made it to television. Lucky us!
HB Pac-Man was pretty terrible, but it did shape the continuity of future games. Pre-Super Mario Bros. platformer Pac-Land was directly based on the cartoon, even using its theme song, and Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures was at least heavily inspired by it. So in an odd way, the cartoon helped the series evolve through the 1980s and 1990s, when storyline went from an unnecessary distraction to a key component of video games.

Dec 28th 2011 6:07PM @Deezul AwT No fair! You altered the outcome by measuring it!

Dec 28th 2011 6:05PM Redstone! Sumner Redstone!
He's the greediest in history!
Tried to... welch on payment!
Now he owes a hundred mill times three!
(I know, I've done the Flintstones joke before. Sheddup.)
12 Days of Joyswag: Nintendo 3DS plus eight games (and a ton of Skylanders) (Joystiq)
Dec 26th 2011 9:56PM Not as often as I should be, I'll tell you that! But I pulled my GameBoy Micro out of mothballs and intend to spend a lot of time with it. On the go, in the can, even upstairs in my room... it doesn't matter, I'll play it anywhere.
12 Days of Joyswag: 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect, Forza Motorsport 4, and Wireless Speed Wheel (Joystiq)
Dec 26th 2011 9:53PM No, and never.

Dec 26th 2011 7:23PM Silly Joystiq, the fourth dimension is time!
Anyway, my room smells of BO and desperation.
Mirror's Edge free on iOS today (Joystiq)
Dec 9th 2011 10:30AM "Not as thrilling?" Feh. More like "actually playable." The console version of Mirror's Edge was a convoluted mess. A 3D platformer was a horrible idea... one that requires most of the buttons on the controller was even worse. When you take 3D out of the equation, the game becomes manageable, even fairly fun! (Although climbing up those steam vents can go right to hell.)
