'In Plain Sight' Star Mary McCormack Is Pregnant (PopEater)
Jul 22nd 2011 10:46AM Incorporating the pregnancy into the series - great idea. I hate it when bellies get hidden behind plants and clipboards and huge purses...
I didn't watch before, but this is intriguing... I'm just wondering if the show will lead Mary Shannon into single motherhood instead of woman-who-gives-up-baby-then-ultimately-regrets-it...
Seven Ways to Make 'Stargate Universe' the Best Show on TV (AOL TV)
Sep 28th 2010 9:56PM My fave character Eli wears the same t-shirt and hoodie 24/7. I hope the Destiny jumps into an alien space with a Fashion Planet, so that he can get a change of clothes!
And ha ha, cwward, you say "don't label me a homophobe," yet what you follow that with dead-on defines homophobia! If the label fits, don't be shy, just go ahead and wear it!

May 7th 2010 9:10AM Ha ha, an addiction to the internet is like being addicted to eating... Uh... right?

From Page to Screen: 'The Blind Side' (Cinematical)
Nov 28th 2009 10:55AM Sigh... Another "feel good" story for the "sensitive" white person who would never admit it, but desperately needs his/her inner superiorChild coddled and affirmed on a regular basis...
Enter the stereotype: the poor, illiterate, victimized black who hasn't a clue, or the resources, or anything to survive, save an heroic, long-suffering white whoever who miraculously -- and so SELFLESSLY, against the restraints and restrictions of a mean ol' society -- rescues the ne'er-do-well and transforms his/her world into a successful, livable place, and then... all is well, ha ha (the happy slave myth)...!
I'm not saying it's a bad thing to help those unfortunate. Per se. I'm simply re-framing this story's premise. What looks like altruism is not always that; it's vanity. It's simply stroking plumes. In this case, as in so many Hollywood vehicles, the stark contrast between the black victim and the white heroes is so predictable and tired, it is past suspect -- it's offensive...
...and so tedious to plow through. (Even more so, knowing that it is true.)
