iPort: Wall-mounted home automation for iPad (TUAW.com)

Aug 21st 2010 11:44AM Haha. What "major players" have dropped their touch panels below a grand?! There are no major players (yet) using a flash based GUI. Crestron will offer it with their new unannounced 3 series processors and new vtpro replacement.

Btw, we have no problem reselling an in wall iPad with installation and programming for $3500. I work for a major player and we use major player hardware.

See you at CEDIA?

iPort: Wall-mounted home automation for iPad (TUAW.com)

Aug 21st 2010 3:39AM @kirbdog if you install large home automation systems, you should know that no one comes close to a $500 in wall touch panel. You've got a minimum of a few grand to start for a smaller, older touch panel. It's arguable that these automation companies' touch panels are far superior in quality or integrate any better than the iPad. For straight up residential solutions, the iPad actually does a heck of a lot more.

Why not just sell them an inwall iPad in addition to one they can walk around the house with. It's been working really well for us.

Adobe targets Apple in ad campaign launched today, publishes open letter from founders (Engadget)

May 13th 2010 10:19AM Rather than playing defense, Adobe should work on fixing their technology. I CHOOSE to turn off flash on all websites because it breaks browsers and increases CPU usage; no matter what computer I'm using.

EFF YOU ADOBE

You're going to fail at making Apple look like the bad guys here because your heads are so far up your A-Holes that you can't see that flash needs to be repaired / rewritten. I'm all for what flash has to offer, but it's not usable. It's 1996 technology shoved down the 21st century's throat.

ADOBE - also the only major company that still relies on Rosetta to run in OS X.

iPhone 4G: is this it? (Engadget)

Apr 17th 2010 10:24PM I'm pretty sure this device has NOT gone through the FCC already for approval. Right?

XstreamHD actually available for pre-order (Engadget)

Jan 7th 2010 9:58AM I'm friends with the guy who's been working on their prototypes. I've been hearing his stories for three years now. The product sounds really exciting actually.

Philadelphia wants to buy Earthlink's former hardware, keep municipal WiFi dream alive (Engadget)

Dec 17th 2009 6:37PM Huh? Then where has CLEAR procured their hardware? I figured they were the company that bought up Earthlink's trash. If Philly offers free wifi, there's no doubt they'll put CLEAR out of business. With all the marketing they've been doing I'm sure they won't be very thrilled to hear this.

Beta Beat: Google Chrome beta for Mac available (TUAW.com)

Dec 8th 2009 1:52PM Here's the last article TUAW ran on Oct 23rd. I'm almost positive this is the exact same version number.

I'm almost sure I'm running the same version noted in this article. http://www.tuaw.com/2009/10/12/google-chrome-browser-for-mac-coming-later-this-year-you-can-te/
