More proof that there is no A List (or at least if there is, it means NOTHING!) (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Mar 19th 2007 9:52PM Scoble can't get written up anywhere unless he whines; you couldn't accomplish anything at Weblogs Inc.; Perez Hilton attends depressing parties frequented with C-list celebs; Steve Rubel is a joke and his employer Edelman is famous for screwing up Microsoft's PR; Ze Frank was already a talented web designer and public speaker; Adam Curry is just building a network to sell or fail; I'm living in an attic room deferring my student loans; and wasn't Elizabeth Spiers supposed to be the next Nick Denton by now?
The rest, sure, they've done well for themselves. Still, please respect your readers enough to spend more than ten seconds picking examples.

You've got... blogs! (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Oct 6th 2005 2:03PM Not to self-promote, but let me self-promote: Blogebrity's covering all the directions that WIN is heading, since we found Problogger's outline of the internal WIN e-mail. Posted that here: http://www.blogebrity.com/blog/2005/10/problogger-outlines-internal-win-e.html Jason, by the way, when I IMed you threatening to stab you with a spoon if you ever sold to Yahoo or Google, that was because Yahoo just bought Upcoming. I had no idea you were about to sell to Time Warner's tumor. But it sounds like you worked out a fantastic contract, healthy for WIN. Great job.
RSS Reader partnership... (or "we need traffic!") (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Sep 10th 2005 8:34PM Wouldn't it be better just to link to the feed? Even MyYahoo can't have more users than the total number of people who can recognize an RSS feed.

Amazon affiliate tips and advice. (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Aug 29th 2005 10:52PM The plan, as you present it, is up-front and honest. Most affiliates give little or no indication that they're earning from your purchase. A small note, either permanently on the front page or in each post with an affiliate link, seems adequate.

Aug 16th 2005 12:33PM Ebert's Pulitzer line was a terribly witty response to Schneider's little hissy-fit at a less awarded critic. I considered it pure pwnage.
The Cinematical Podcast: Skeleton Key (Cinematical)
Aug 12th 2005 3:02PM Is there an RSS feed for your podcasts only? And can you get iTunes to list it in their directory? And can I have a pony?
Blockbuster's declining sales (Cinematical)
Aug 11th 2005 9:50AM Meh. I use Blockbuster cause I hate waiting 2 days for a movie to come in, and none of the little local stores have enough DVDs of older films. They're basically the McD's of video rental, and I don't see what's so bad in local video stores shutting down. That said, if I could download a DVD for under $5 in under 1 hour, even with rudimentary DRM, I think I'd do it.
