DS Fanboy poll: Do friend codes ever prevent you from playing online? (Joystiq Nintendo)

May 31st 2007 11:06AM What bugs me me more is the lack of WPA. I can't be bothered to open up my connection just o play my DS.

Does product activation suck? (Download Squad)

Apr 17th 2007 10:49PM What's ridiculous here is the way he's doing licencing. It's too bad he's using something public, like someone's EMAIL.

I agree with registration, and reasonable limits, but only if the product registration is predicated on something reasonable and private.

Firefox 2 Easter Egg (Download Squad)

Dec 3rd 2006 1:51PM It's actually an easter egg built into gecko, the rendering engine. (As such, will work on all gecko based browsers: Camino, Firefox, mozilla, seamonkey, etc.)

Stumble Upon StumbleUpon.com (Download Squad)

Aug 22nd 2006 1:16PM Stumbleupon was great, however, when I was using it I found there were limits to it's database size. Alas. Del.icio.us was up and coming at the time, so I jumped ship.

It's our 2nd birthday and we're giving you the presents! (Engadget)

Mar 6th 2006 10:02PM My favorite post that I can remember off Engadget was the NYU multitouch; http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/09/nyus-multi-touch-sensing-through-frustrated-total-internal-refl/

Watching the linked video made me remember why I want to see the future, when goodness, all those cellphones made me so tired of seeing the ''future''.

Ask Engadget: What's the best wireless router? (Engadget)

Jan 26th 2006 5:06PM I think one thing we all forget is just how crucial it is to have a good firmware to go along with it. I know, because I have an old wireless-B router, and sure, 'taint fast, nor is it hackable, but along came a firmware upgrade. I went for it. What a mistake. Damn thing beacuse useless: Couldn't hold a connection for longer than 20 mintues, and hard locked whenever a RTSP stream tried to come through it. Turns out, it's a known problem with that firmware edition. Flashed it back one version, and I know how the most stable router I've ever seen, anywhere. (But, it's a wireless B, so It's a bit behind the times.... and it's not got a great amount of range). It is truely a set-it and forget it.

Nintendo prepping a DS update for the 16th? (Engadget)

Jan 12th 2006 7:29PM I never thought about having play-yan features built in, but now that people have mentioned it, it makes a certain amount of sense. It would definitely be one killer feature, and that alone would be enough to have me RE-buy my DS. Add in VoIP, and I'd truly be sold.

Famitsu: New DS in spring (Joystiq Nintendo)

Jan 7th 2006 12:10AM Sure, a redesign would be interesting, and if they make it look cool enough, maybe would grab them a big chunk of market share: But so soon, and it's going to leave a bit of a bitter taste in the mouths of those who've already bought theirs.

Now that I think about it, screw the cosmetic redesign, and make a backwards compatible DS2.0!

Verizon says Google and Microsoft should pay for bandwidth (Download Squad)

Jan 6th 2006 11:39PM An ISP that doesn't get that it's an ISP... what's next, a dog that doesn't get it's a dog? Oh wait, farley mowat already wrote that one.
