Lean for Lent: Curbing the Chocolate Cravings (That's Fit)

Feb 25th 2010 7:52PM Lent–noun
(in the Christian religion) an annual season of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesdayand lasting 40 WEEKDAYS to Easter.

No one that I know has EVER heard of the "Sundays are free days and you can have whatever you want" business. While the time frame is considered the 40 weekdays, the entire period is still lent. Sort of defeats the purpose of sacrifice if you know you only have to hold on till the weekend....geez

Susan Boyle 'Needs 24-hour Care,' Her Family Claims (PopEater)

Feb 25th 2010 7:09PM EXACTLY!!! My absolute first thought before reading past the very first line of this article was, "Aha! The family is after her money!" I would suggest Miss Boyle get herself a really fantastic solicitor and make arrangements for care and money management (and NOT anyone in her family)-JUST IN CASE, and spike their guns!

Sadly, very often such sweet people who have been treated poorly by the family, often are the last ones to "see" that the family is out to get them and their money!

Paranoid TSA checkpoint agents arrest man over harmless Arabic flashcards (Gadling)

Feb 16th 2010 7:18PM First, let me say, thank you and God bless YOU! I thought this exact same thing when I read the headline alone! My oldest son was an arab linguist with the AF and mentioned flashcards-but that was before TSA and their idiocy.

Oh, and for Lori-you obviously didn't read the article or not all of it-it specifically states they found the cards IN HIS BAG. Did you think he was doing magic tricks with them as he went through the TSA checkpoint? Get a grip!

Windows Update to Ancient Bug Causing Blue Screen of Death (Switched)

Feb 14th 2010 12:37PM And I thought the problems with this piece of ca-ca was because of what my son has loaded on it! Both of our comps are laptops, but this (his) is a Toshiba, and isn't even two years old...I have a Dell that is MUCH older and when it's up and running (needs a new battery, so it's currently "resting"), it runs circles around this bloody thing!!! I'll definitely be telling the kid all about this when he gets in from work! He's savvy but has just assumed it's giving ME hissies cuz of it's age!

Man Arrested for Tattooing Toddler (ParentDish)

Feb 14th 2010 12:21PM Once is your opinon; more than that shows what an idiot you are and gets reported.

Man Arrested for Tattooing Toddler (ParentDish)

Feb 14th 2010 12:19PM Actually tattoos DO a sort of "fade" with time-most likely this one is 'seeming' to fade quickly because of what was used as "ink" and because it wasn't deep and/or because it is supposedly such a thin line. I have tattoos and got the first in my late thirties. I am considering MORE, but I'm an ADULT who knew what was involved well ahead of time and made the decision for myself. (yes MINE are "faded" and I'm also considering touch-ups). One major point whether it's fading or NOT is that this is PAINFUL and was done to an infant!!!

And for those asking about the mother and calling for her head on a platter...this is family...have you NEVER left your child with family? It's more than possible that she made the (mistaken) assumption that with other family there the baby would be well looked after! Don't make assumptions of your own!

Study Says Cat Owners Are Smarter Than Dog Owners (Pawnation OLD)

Feb 11th 2010 5:43PM This writer obviously has neither furby, as they're incapable of even using "spellcheck" on their comp. I don't fuss when posters mis-spell...heck, in my rush to post I often do. But a so-called "professional writer"? "...type of domesticated animals Brits preffered,..." Ummmm that's PREFERRED. Sorry, go ahead and castigate me for daring to correct them-but as I said, a 'poster' is one thing this alleged professional is another!

Facebook's at It Again: More Changes, More Grumbling (Switched)

Feb 11th 2010 5:14PM Not only SLOW, but constantly freezes up! Is this what they meant by wanting users to spend more time on their site? If it is, they're sadly mistaken as to it's efficacy! It's only ticking people off, I am "this" close to kicking them to the curb. The comp runs juuuuuuuuuuuuust fine until I dare to open ANY facebook page at all, whether just the feed or an app. Then it's only a matter of a few minutes till the problems begin and I have to completely reboot! Runs fine again, AS LONG AS I DON'T OPEN FACEBOOK!!!! IDIOTS! And it's certainly NOT helpful for bookmarks to now only be available on the 'home' page...that means you have to constantly be going back and forth to the homepage to use them! Sort of defeats the purpose! It's simpler NOW to simply type what you want into search! Again, IDIOTS!!!

No Water Fountains for Cavs Fans (Fanhouse Backporch)

Feb 9th 2010 4:59PM Here's an idea that will REALLY help stop the spread of the so-called swine flu (and MUCH more effective than removing water fountains)...STAY HOME! If the idiots at the Cavs home office really think we're going to fall for this ca-ca, then we can help their civic-minded campaign to keep us all safe and stay away from their arena! No rubbing elbows with all those "germ carrying" fans who dare to drink free water! Problem solved!

Americans consume 33 billion online videos in December 2009 (Download Squad)

Feb 8th 2010 8:36PM "Consumed"? I supposed contextually the wording might be considered 'correct'. However when I saw this "headline" I immediately wondered if I needed to get some nice horseradish sauce or a hot mustard...be honest-didn't most of you think you would be reading an article about food or drink?
