Liveblogging the iPhone 1.0.1 update (TUAW.com)
Jul 31st 2007 11:24PM wtf? i just installed the new firmware update and now my phone can't connect to any AT&T towers. has anyone else had this problem? I had like 3 bars of service in my house, did the update, and now it says "No Service". yeah, i kinda doubt that. i stood outside in the street for like 10 minutes. nothing. wtf apple?

Random acts of Mac kindness (TUAW.com)
Jun 19th 2007 2:45PM my family had a yard sale and we were selling an old school apple II or something and this parent came by and asked if any games came for it. we were like "are there games...hello, you can play like speed solitare, chess, bricks...it's practically a dream machine for a kid. and to top it off, we might even throw in Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?"
true story.

Connect360 updated with H.264 support (TUAW.com)
May 14th 2007 1:55PM freakin awesome! i emailed the guys at nullriver as soon as i saw the dashboard update go up and they replied and said they were already working on it. nice work by those guys for a speedy update.
one question i have: i need to convert a bunch of my video into the right format, but what settings should i use? i plan on using ffmpegx since it seems to give the most control over the compression (and its free). has anyone come up with good settings that seem to work all around? i did a couple test compressions and put them on a usb drive and the 360 had some problems syncing the audio and video, so i was just wondering if there's a cutoff bitrate or something i should pay attention to. thanks
Is the iPhone too small for advertising? (TUAW.com)
May 9th 2007 5:53PM or you can bypass tivo and just make your own dvr. sorry, maybe that's too much right now.
anyways, advertising funds waaay more than we think. i mean, they decide if a tv show will be put on the air or not. they have a lot of say and a lot of money. there's nothing too small for advertising. they will find a way, be sure of that.
