Aug 28th 2008 1:46PM Yo're sounding like the MPAA. I can't wait to see Wured's response. They wrote article after articla about how the music industry did the piracy thing wrong. Let's see what they come up with.

Fan Rant: The Fans Strike Back! (Cinematical)

Oct 8th 2007 7:46PM Erik, you're an idiot. And when AOL sells a collection of Cinematical blogs for 1.2 Billion and you don't see one thin dime you will understand the plight of the Writers/Directors and Producers.

The studios have less than nothing to say about the price of popcorn and soda. In fact the theaters basically nothing but themselves concession stands; the movies are only to get you in to buy the consessions.

And Tim, post #1, there were 50 great movies in the last 5 years. You didn't go to see any of them...and neither did most americans. But you all got off your asses to see The Game Plan so don't be upset when the studios give you what you seem to want.

GigaOM thinks Steve Jobs is Bill Gates 2.0 (TUAW.com)

Sep 13th 2006 12:54PM I think you guys are looking at it from the wrong point of view. The DRM exists to pacify the RECORD industry, not Steve. Without the DRM he would have NEVER amassed the huge support from record labels to buy into this whole mp3 thing. It's not about Apple keeping control of the iPod, it's about Apple keeping control of the CONTENT.

And this is why he previewed the iTV. Right now, the only studios involved are the ones on whose board Steve sits. Previewing this device was not for us, but for the other studios to see. It's Steve's way of saying "look, we know Amazon and a few others are doing this but we're going to do it better and here's why. There's no need to allow the customer to burn a potentially piratable DVD when they can stream it to their TV directly thru our device (and we'll be able to do HD lllooonnnggg before Blu-Ray or HD DVD becomes popular). So, pass on Amazon et. al. and come sign up with us."

If Apple doesn't get the groundswell of studios on board the Movie site the same way he did with the Music sight he won't sell as many of those oft speculated about 'true' video ipods.
