Big Download's most anticipated PC games for E3 2008: 25-21 (Big Download)
Jul 7th 2008 3:01PM So the big-deal PC games are 4 console ports and a MMO? Pass.
It seems like the only reason I bother with PC gaming is for free casual titles, or so I can use a mouse in an FPS. It's kind of depressing.
Diablo III: Co-op focus means no on-the-fly PK toggle, PvP to be included (Big Download)
Jul 7th 2008 2:49PM I shed a single tear for assholes who won't be able to backstab you when you least expect it.
Can they update the design so it *looks* like you can toggle PK on mid-game, except if you click it it actually gives you cancer? That would be better.
Resident Evil 5 to have pop-in co-op, flashbacks, more (Joystiq Playstation)
May 23rd 2008 11:10AM Waitwaitwait, you haven't played RE4 yet? Why are you on the Internet instead of in the car driving to the mall to buy it? GO!
Seriously, RE4 is awesome. Get the Wii version if you can -- the pointer-based aiming makes a 10/10 game score at least a 12 =-p
MGS4 features 90-minute cutscenes, 4.6GB installation (Joystiq Playstation)
May 23rd 2008 10:56AM I can't tell you how much I hope this is wrong. The times when I get to play on my PS3 for 90 minutes on the same day, much less contiguously, are few and far between. I count on being able to save pretty often, and unless you can save in the middle of the cutscene, I'm going to get into serious trouble.
Deal of the Day: Guitar Hero III bundle for $60 (Joystiq Playstation)
May 21st 2008 2:09PM But seriously, is there any real advantage to this over the 360 version? With the 360 one, I can get MS Point cards from e.g. TrU when they have a "buy 1 get 1" accessory sale, so effectively the DLC is cheaper. Any reason to go PS3?
Community sites are the future for Sony games (Joystiq Playstation)
May 21st 2008 10:14AM I have both systems. I got my Wii first, then 360, then PS3. I got the 360 for a few exclusives (BioShock, then Mass Effect, plus a few others). I got the PS3 because of Ratchet and Clank, MGS, FF, maybe LBP, and White Knight Story/Chronicles, and also to upscale my many PS2 games. Note that only one of those PS3 games has actually been released yet. If I had the space at home, I might try to get into Eye of Judgment, which looks cool, but it looks like too much work to set up a game.
I own about a dozen 360 games, but only 2 PS3 games -- I bought Ratchet and Clank with the system, then I got Uncharted about a month ago (but resold it after I beat it -- no replay value, really), then Devil May Cry 4 (not an exclusive!) a week or two ago. I've got a couple of PSN titles, too, but nothing to write home about. I just looked at Metacritic, and the top 20 games I either already played, own the 360/PC version of, or just can't get excited about (sports games and FPS, ugh).
Long story short: I use the PS3 as a network media player far more often than I use it for games. It's top-notch in that respect (especially if you get the BD remote), but frankly it hasn't come into its own for exclusives yet.

Stay up to date with Prince of Persia screens and artwork (Joystiq Playstation)
May 20th 2008 9:56AM I fear White Knight Chronicles (got renamed per WP) is going to be our Duke Nukem Forever. That game is about 30% of the reason I bought my PS3, and I don't think there's any chance of seeing it even this year, much less this season.
::sigh::
MGS4 may be end of Snake, but not the end of series (Joystiq Playstation)
May 19th 2008 3:20PM Of course, the games also jump forward and backward around the timeline like that dude from Quantum Leap, so just because MGS4 chronicles the "end" of the Snake saga, doesn't mean that subsequent games can't address the beginning or the middle.
