Apple TV, amongst other things, now mixes your music! (Download Squad)

Oct 30th 2009 3:39AM Look, I have an Apple TV and I will not do this update. I have modded mine and can watch Hulu from Boxee and stream non-MP4 movies to it. I have used their hardware and made it a very usable, necessary part of my home experience.

If you get one, go ahead and patchstick to make it the product it should be. With Netflix coming to the Wii, PS3, and XBOX, Apple is running out of room in the crowded mess we call home entertainment.

Clean your cache, browser history, etc with CleanAfterMe (Download Squad)

Jun 9th 2008 5:19PM CleanAfterMe? What? I always read and never write but why in the world would you write a review about a program that is A) The equal to Disk Cleanup in Windows B) Simple and but useless at best. CCleaner is a superior app with details and tools available all in a package that can ALSO run from your USB Drive.

Are you the developer of this batch file alternative or is one of your friends?

Losing credibility every day as far as I am concerned. I used to read everyday, now I browse once a month.

Microsoft speeds up Outlook 2007 (Download Squad)

Apr 14th 2007 7:50PM Microsoft will never stop! Now they are taking over Photoshop's file extenstion. What was wrong with the PST file that they needed to change it to the PSD file. Geez.

Kidding but the article is slightly incorrect by one letter here and there.

Win a copy of Vista Ultimate (Download Squad)

Jan 30th 2007 2:33AM I recently made the jump to Mac at home, but I am a system administrator at work and am tethered to Microsoft. I work for a non-profit and we are not yet making the jump to Vista. I feel it would be beneficial to me and my future endeavors to be up to date with the latest and greatest Microsoft has to offer. I would like a copy as I cannot see me getting it any other way. Download Squad is part of my daily routine and I think you guys are great!

Microsoft releases Messenger for Mac 6.0 (Download Squad)

Sep 29th 2006 1:10AM Hooray, Microsoft was nice enough to add features that absolutely no one freaking uses, the ability to communicate with the communications server. Forget building compatability for the iSight camera. Not to mention the Live features are not supported by Safari or Camino

Windows Media Encoder 9 (Download Squad)

Sep 8th 2006 11:29AM Thanks everyone. I can play WMV on the mac. I cannot import WMV into Imovie. I have a Mac so downloading Sony Vegas..... is not an option.

You can have QT convert to MOV, but you have to have the registered version of QT. I dont have it and have just basically been to lazy or un-motivated? to figure it all right now.

Last note, if you have a site that hosts WMV on a site, you have to turn Rosetta on for Safari to be able to play it on the new Intel Macs. WMV is not a true cross platform video codec. Sorry but it just isnt. Real, Flash video both play fantastically.

Apple now owns over a %12 market share so I only see that getting bigger. Better to prepare for the inevitable.

Windows Media Encoder 9 (Download Squad)

Sep 8th 2006 12:38AM I have converted many videos into WMV, but here is my problem with the format now. I recently purchased a MacBook and WMV is useless when trying to make IMovie files and so forth. I used Windows Movie Maker to convert my video from Digital 8 and then I would make DVDs using Ulead Movie Factory and with the same source file I would convert for the web. Now that I dont have my Windows machine anymore all of the those files are worthless and I lack the knowledge and energy to figure it out. Back to the TAPE!
