Jun 16th 2010 7:57AM This is the future. Kinect leads the way into a new era of natural user interfaces.
Kinect is the perfect name, capturing the two key concepts -- kinetics and connection.

Nexus One review (Engadget)
Jan 5th 2010 9:00AM "the Nexus One is at its core just another Android smartphone ... not in any way the Earth-shattering, paradigm-skewing device the media and community cheerleaders have built it up to be..."
Nexus One review (Engadget)
Jan 5th 2010 8:58AM The new Google Nexus One phone is characteristically over-hyped.
It's just another mobile phone by HTC. (I love the HTC HD2.)
It's also another obvious attempt to replicate the iPhone.

I love it. Very cool stuff, like seeing MS PowerPoint presentations complete with animations in a web browser, and using Excel on a mobile.
Microsoft borrows Apple Store blueprint, manager (video) (Engadget)
Nov 30th 2009 5:45AM No, Apple didn't invent the concept of a shop.
It's not really big news when two companies in the same industry sector do similar things. Especially if that similar thing is opening a store or selling things in a branded shop.
The response from Apple fanboys and the anti-MS community is as typical as it is comical.
Intelligent people will welcome more the extra competition in this retail sector, which is dominated by a handful of major retailers.
I welcome the opportunity to purchase these excellent products direct from MS.
Video: Windows 7 launch party parody is bleeping genius (Engadget)
Sep 24th 2009 8:14AM Dirty tricks and negative marketing -- these fake Microsoft videos serve as excellent examples of these! :)
How obvious is it that Apple paid for this viral video campaign?

Microsoft's Project Pink finally bearing fruit in 2010 with two self-branded phones? (Engadget Mobile)
Sep 21st 2009 7:33AM Thanks for sharing the rumour. It's not long since I wrote a blog post predicting this, in which I explained why it seems inevitable:-

I'm glad you mentioned Zune HD in this context: "the fact that the Zune HD shares 99 percent of its DNA with what could be a top-notch Windows Mobile-beating smartphone". To quote my own original blog post:
"I predict that by 2012 Microsoft will launch something that could be described as a Zune phone."
Molyneux announces Fable III at GamesCom, coming 2010 [update] (Joystiq)
Sep 16th 2009 9:00AM I can hardly wait for Fable III. I wonder whether it'll be available to download from Xbox Live in episode format, like Fable II: Game Episodes

Apple enlists David Puddy to take on the Laptop Hunters (Engadget)
Aug 25th 2009 12:22PM Some consumers will be impressed by an ad with celebrities in it.
"Wow, they actually paid C-list actors with recognisable faces to play those parts, therefore I must be influenced by this marketing."
Mac is a designer brand. Certain types of people do like to have designer brands. These people will pay extra just for a label..

Aug 25th 2009 11:38AM Interesting. Microsoft's TV ads are so much better than this though.

Microsoft cunningly keeps the message very clear: Macs are much more epensive. Why pay more to get less?
Mac is a designer brand.
