May 14th 2010 2:04PM Yeah, because me sharing Linux distributions and other legal content is piracy.

Just in case you didn't know, Bittorrent's use extends beyond people downloading illegal content.

Nov 27th 2007 12:26PM I use Rocketdock, and I also have Objectdock(free version) installed, and right now, I'm torn.

Rocketdock's label text is nice and anti-aliased, Objectdock's is not. Objectdock will give space around the dock, and keep your icons from going under/over it, Rocketdock won't.

I would like to see Rocketdock implement the space around the dock; I'd become a lifelong user then.

You'd think that a company like Stardock would have already considered the ugly aliased text and also given you the ability to choose what font you'd like to use for your text labels. Maybe the paid version does this - I don't know.

Nov 11th 2007 11:14AM @Nick: The CRIA are essentially the Canadian version of the RIAA, without all the posturing and lawsuits.

It's made up of CEOs of the Canadian branches of the record labels, so their heads are just as deeply buried as their US counterparts.

The blank media levy was created for exactly the reason you state, but I have yet to see any numbers published(not that I can find, anyway)as to how much artists actually get from it. I suspect the artists don't get any, but the labels do.

What's amusing is that they are stating now to say that the blank media levy is unfair, and should be removed. Only to be replaced my something more restrictive, obviously.

Software in development to detect / monitor infant pain (Engadget)

Oct 19th 2006 9:47PM I sure as hell don't need a piece of software to tell when my daughter is in distress, and I would say most parents are the same.

Cranky, overtired nurses in hospitals pulling double shifts might not, so if this helps them, all the better.
