Organize your music collection with TagScanner (Download Squad)
Apr 9th 2008 7:47PM I keep getting '202 error Disc not found' (not exact wording). And this is for CDs I ripped myself (my own collection, btw; no thievery). Any ideas?
Also, do I really have to select one album at a time? :_( I have over 3500 mp3s, many not properly categorized. (I know, bad planning on my part at the beginning.) Is there another way?? PLEASE??

Mar 8th 2008 7:49PM Crap... I meant LOUDER THAN HELL. Should've double-checked my lousy typing.

Mar 8th 2008 7:45PM First, thank you for your service!!!!! When I went to college, a bit late in life by comparison, my roommate was hard of hearing from being a gunner also. Is there something that can be done to prevent this damage? I know those guns are LOADER THAN HELL, but still! On the other hand, what a great roommate! My noises never bothered him. It helps he's a good guy, too.
As for tinnitus, I've had it for as long as I can remember. Several years ago, somebody was discussing it like it was a problem but describing exactly what I hear (tone, volume, etc). My response was, "You mean I have tinnitus?" Hehehe Obviously, my case isn't so bad. Music, TV, office/urban noises, conversation usually drown it out. I listen to music at night so I can sleep through the noise. And in reference to the headline, yes, the voices in my head do a good job of drowning out the tinnitus as well. (No, they're not psycho-voices; it's more of a running commentary, kind of like having your own sportscaster. It's an automatic thing I use to keep the brain busy in a comfortable manner, instead of obsessing on things or being depressed/hypomanic.) A funny note along those lines: I was driving along one day and the music stopped. I looked at the car radio wondering what happened, then realized the music was in my head... the radio doesn't work.
Now I'm going to turn up the music (real, not in my head) (to a good, loud level, but not unhealthy) so I can focus on my work. To those for whom tinnitus is an issue, best of luck and I hope something AFFORDABLE and REAL/FUNCTIONAL comes along to help you!
PayPal not an Apple fanboy, discourages use of Safari (Download Squad)
Feb 29th 2008 1:35AM Safari seems to have some compatibility issues anyway. At my work, we provide free WiFi. The system redirects you from your normal home page to our log on page for entering you library card number and pin. Random versions (whole and updates) of Safari just won't connect or log in and we've no idea why. IE, Fire Fox, Opera all work with no problems. With that in mind, I'd recommend against using Safari for financials as well.

Jan 29th 2008 12:19AM Not only do they require you to register with an email address (I use a drop from 10 minute mail), they told me to lower my security settings to 'Low' in order to show me the page I went to after the email reg and successful download. WAY TOO MUCH BULLSHIT FOR ME. Major warning bells that tell me not to install this program or do any business with them. There is a reason I almost never get hit by viruses/Trojans/worms in spite of my constant surfing.

Jan 19th 2008 2:26PM I can't wait for version 2. It should translate it all on the fly and allow it to be fully clickable, much like a remote proxy website. :) Infinite fun, spend the whole day surfing, even if you're working, via this. LOL
Namexif: Batch rename your digital camera files with the date and time (Download Squad)
Jan 16th 2008 3:35AM Thanks for the tip! I just renamed a couple THOUSAND vacation photos. I post on Image Bam (http://www.imagebam.com/) and they have a 3MB per image limit, but my nice new camera puts out 3.25MB images. So I use PIXResizer (http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm) to change the size. It works with entire directories, changes the size to whatever you set it to, up to 1200 pixel width, can change the format (bmp, jpg, pnp, etc), and other info. I always tell it to increase the size on images that are smaller than the selected size. And, very important for us here, I always tell it to keep the EXIF data.... lucky for me so I could use Namexif!

Jan 10th 2008 10:49PM Thanks Jay. PDF-XChange Viewer looks great. Where can I get it? The home site for it doesn't respond and all the download sites link back to it with one notable exception, a site that wants money for this free-be. Any ideas?
