Benchmarking results: Is Snow Leopard really any faster than Leopard? (TUAW.com)
Sep 2nd 2009 9:27AM Unfortunately these benchmarks are largely missing the point. While there are general optimizations that give you a few points in these synthetic benchmarks here and there, the biggest performance improvements of Snow Leopard can't be measured like this. I'm talking about things like the vastly improved Time Machine backup performance, faster startup and shutdown times or a bounce or two fewer when starting apps. You should be tracking those things with a stopwatch instead of posting Geekbench results.

Jul 9th 2009 9:32PM Looking at BlaBlaIncTech's site you get the impression it's written by a 12 year old. Probably not even far from the truth.

A game that was only available for jailbroken phones is now available for non-jailbroken phones. Full Stop.
Takara Tomy's wall-climbing AeroSpider RC car ships this month (Engadget)
Oct 1st 2008 8:54PM Without bothering to re-watch, the gist of it is:
"Look at this, it's amazing!"
"Climbs walls!"
"Works under the table too."
"Even on my bell-- WTF, no it doesn't!"
Finally: "Mommy, buy me this, okay?!"

German users claim MacBook Air can cut through bread, flesh (Engadget)
May 28th 2008 3:04AM @Laron
The update on the story says:
"Sorry for the confusion, to clear things up:
The cut was due to the sharp edge of the palm rest of a MacBook!"
And yeah, these things are sharp. With the right angle and enough speed I can see how one might be able to cut himself.
Why won't Gmail add filtering based on character sets? (Download Squad)
Jun 20th 2007 6:28AM The trick? Click "Report Spam", not "Delete". Gmail does filter non-English mails. Train your filter, it works fine for me.
Run Vista on your Intel Mac with Q (TUAW.com)
Aug 20th 2006 7:34AM I tried installing it in Q on my MacBook a couple of weeks back, but it was slow as hell. Took about 4 hours to decompress the image, i.e. install it to disk, something that takes about 30 - 40 mins natively. Then it hung there for some reason and had apparently crashed. Didn't bother to try since, since I need my CPU cycles for other things.
