Dec 30th 2008 4:34PM Mike strikes again with his holier-than-thou opinion. It is most humbling that you deem us worthy to write for and guide us in what is truly important and what is "dumb".

Too bad we can't vote + or - on his posts.

Dec 9th 2008 2:24PM Congrats on your new status at TUAW! I look forward to any stories relating to mac administration, integration into larger networks, etc.

We are currently using a deployment system whose heart is centered around Radmind (www.radmind.org). What setup do you use to image and maintain your macs?

@Christopher Fugle: The already suggested mailing lists and websites are probably the primary ones I'd suggest too, but you might also find some info at http://www.enterprisedesktopalliance.com/

Apple.com, a retrospective (TUAW.com)

Oct 8th 2008 7:45AM Uhh, the web wasn't around in the late 80's, so I don't think you'll have much luck finding an archive of Apple's website from then...

Actually, of interest (from Wikipedia's entry on the World Wide Web), "A NeXTcube was used by Berners-Lee as the world's first Web server and also to write the first Web browser, WorldWideWeb, in 1990. "

Note too that the WWW didn't really hit its stride till Mosaic came out in 1993, and it took some time for commercial orgs to pickup and put websites up...

eeeMac runs OS X on an even smaller portable than the Air (TUAW.com)

Sep 12th 2008 8:25AM Alternatively try the MSI Wind - buy a different wifi card on ebay for around $20 and you have a super cheap 10" mac laptop that runs at great speed (faster than any g4 powerbook), and almost everything works too (web cam, sd slot, ethernet, speakers, usb, etc). The only thing that doesnt work is mic in and headphone out (solvable with a usb sound card) and monitor out is a little dodgy. replacing the stock wifi card with a Dell 1490 is about a 5 minute job and its detected as an airport card.

(typing this from OS X 10.5.4 on an MSI Wind)

Jawbone: Get ticketed, get a discount (TUAW.com)

Aug 3rd 2008 11:04AM Great - so, all the assholes who flaunt the law and pose a risk to others on the roads are given a discount, while the people who care about the safety of others pay more. Real smart marketing...
