Japanese hardware sales, February 6 - 12: Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout edition (Joystiq)

Feb 20th 2012 12:06AM @Acosta02 I don't remember at this point. I didn't get to play much of it, so maybe I didn't give it a fair shake. I just distinctly remember BT2 being "the first good DBZ" game I played after years of disappointment.

Japanese hardware sales, February 6 - 12: Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout edition (Joystiq)

Feb 19th 2012 11:58PM Funny story. I bought Dragonball GT Final Bout on release. Kind of a "right time, right place" thing. A few years later, I realized what it was worth. It wasn't a good game, so I didn't care to hold onto it. Most ebay folk were getting around $200 for it. I somehow managed to get $310.

A bit later, shortly after the launch of the PS2 the game got a $10 re-release (as DBZ had become a big deal by then) for the budget gamer crowd. They were still selling the PSOne and a small handful of good and/or popular titles. Suffice to say, the value of the game by this time dropped drastically.

Again, shortly there after, PS2 DBZ games started getting released and by this point absolutely no one cared about Dragonball GT Final Bout.

I do think it is a terrible game, but I've played many of the Japanese ones and I can promise you folks, it is NOT the worst. Compared to some, it might pass for decent. I personally only think DBZ Budokai Tenkiechi 2 and 3 are good.

BTW, didn't the original box art call it "Dragonball Final Bout"? I know the re-release called it "GT"...

The MMO Report: Schreinercraft edition (Massively)

Dec 2nd 2011 2:51PM Do not like. Didn't realize at first this was a G4TV thing. Glad to see I still hate everything they produce. Can they not come into anything with a less snarky attitude? Gamers already have a bad enough public face. This doesn't help, and it isn't really funny either.

Aug 15th 2011 11:45AM My favorite thing about housing in any MMO is it gives you a space to not be in a massively public area and work on crafting or just situating ability points or whatever you need a minute to think about distraction-free.

Sonic Generations footage: Chemical Plant Zone and City Escape (Joystiq)

Aug 8th 2011 12:43PM 3-D Chemical Plant Zone is genius! Love how they put it together and the music. Hope the rest of the game is as interesting.

Watch Major League Gaming's Anaheim Championship Sunday live, right here on Joystiq (Joystiq)

Jul 31st 2011 4:50PM I actually like the post with it's live embedded video and all. I wouldn't want all of them to be like this, but it's good to see special events.

On the other hand, My only problem with this is the fact RTS and most FPS games aren't really great to watch. Last time I saw an event like this, which was a long time ago, they had no live feeds of the GAMES and it was basically 3 hrs of looking at people make faces in front of monitors, while brain dead announces just make random and irrelevant speech.

EVO 2k11 is more my kind of event. I like how they cover it, I love how they know what they are talking about. As much as I like some of the guys who play, they don't spend too much time on them, but rather on the game play.

I'll probably check this out for a little while just to see what its all about, but I'm really more about the EVO with SSF4 and MvC3.
