Amazon buys online apparel store Zappos for $807 million (Download Squad)

Jul 23rd 2009 5:39AM I hope that Amazon does not ruin Zappos, which has without doubt the BEST customer service I have ever experienced on the internet. Their prices are high - full retail, but for that you get free shipping and great customer service.

My daughter had a pair of Ugg boots that I had given to her the previous Christmas. About 51 weeks after purchase - on a Sunday morning at 8 am - I noticed that the bottoms of the boots had separated from the sole of the boot. I went to the UGG website and tried to find out about warranties and stuff and never got anywhere. I went to the Zappos web site and emailed their customer service people. By 10:30 am I got an email with a (1) return authorization and shipping label to send back the boots and (2) confirmation that a new pair of boots would be sent to me. I got the new boots on Tuesday. I sent the old boots back and there was never any problem.

Zappos is amazing - please - Amazon - don't ruin them - just improve them by having them start to see SHOELACES!!!

Jun 10th 2009 4:35PM Would be a LOT more useful if it could let you access a menu of the add-ons currently installed on that machine to add it to the list - rather than having to enter each one manually.
