iPhone 3G S supports OpenGL ES 2.0, but 3G only supports 1.1 -- will the App Store splinter? (Engadget)

I stand correct. Mindless fanboys like you will indeed make the purchase.
I doubt you even read my full comment.
I never said those developers won't develop for it - they will - but making a good game takes TIME.
The article has mentioned that making games for the new graphics requires a complete rewrite - TIME.
Polished games need good marketing (big budget/expense = cannot fail), which takes TIME.
Add up all that TIME, and it'll take more than a year for most polished games.
By which time, there'll be a new iDevice that Apple can hype up with the use of these games.

Jun 10th 2009 6:08AM I believe it was legislated in some countries, perhaps not USA.
The main reason was to prevent people's pictures from being taken without consent, especially in sensitive areas such as saunas, pool, etc.
It's awesome how when people take photographs of others without consent is perfectly fine, yet when the government does the same, people cry foul and call it an invasion of privacy (security cameras in Britain, anyone?).

Jun 10th 2009 5:16AM Here's an answer: no one.
By the time a company with sufficient budget publishes a game with enough hype to move over, a year in development/marketing would have passed. If not more.
By than, the newer models would be out -- iPhone 3G SS? - or rumored to be coming out and everyone will be delaying their purchase to wait for the new model.
I think Apple is pretty clear of this themselves, and the fact that the new model has such a disgustingly mundane name (S? Seriously?) is a clear indication.
Like what Microsoft did with Vista, they probably want developers to make some new kick-ass games supporting the new graphics before launching an uber-hyped model with these (newly-developed) games to showcase its features and attract buyers.
Oh crap! Could I really switch to Safari? Wait, nope. (Download Squad)
Jun 10th 2009 5:10AM Then I must be an ULTRA fanboy to expect Chromium, Opera 10, Firefox 3.5 and Windows 7 RC, two sets of pre-release software to work better than Safari (a final build) and Windows 7 RC!?!
Oh wait a minute, they do work better.
Why should Apple, a company with vastly more resources, do any poorer?
In case you're thinking I'm anti-apple, I own an iPod Touch.
But that does not change the fact that Apple has down a shoddy job.
Nintendo admits to scrapping new handheld plans in the past three years (Engadget)
Jun 8th 2009 12:41PM @thatrotierkid
In the handheld console market, Nintendo doesn't really have much competition besides Sony.
And Sony's new PSP-Go (the answer to DSi) is currently receiving a lot of flaming with many swearing not to buy it.
So Nintendo's handheld pie is pretty safe at the moment - nowhere near dead.
PSP Go lacks mini USB, compatibility with existing accessories, common sense (Engadget)
Jun 8th 2009 12:24PM Excuse me if I'm wrong, Zach, but I think Sony IS relying heavily on their PS-series.
If I remember correctly, Sony attributed their retrenching of employees and poor annual revenue due to the loss of the popularity of their console.
PS2 made them alot of money - probably more than all other departments combined in its heyday.
With PS3 poised to fail and PSP Go fanboy-only-material, things aren't looking too bright for them.

Jun 8th 2009 11:46AM Agent .25i is filled with ignorance.
Here are some examples of sudden attacks/diseases:
- Stroke
- Heart Attack
- Asthma
- Seizures/Cramps
They affect people of all ages, not just seniors - who should not be discriminated against in the first place.
BMW and the other leading car manufacturers are not fools.
They must have done research before embarking on this, and clearly their research shows enough people get injured by this for them to care.
