iPhone to get wifi syncing? Steve Jobs says, "someday." (Download Squad)
Jun 27th 2010 12:41PM If you listened carefully, Steve did mention this during his D8 interview. It makes complete sense that they'd want to speed the syncing process up first and improve battery life before they did this. And iOS 4 seems to fix these two issues, so I won't be surprised if WiFi syncing comes to us before the next iPhone does.
DoJ making preliminary inquiries into Apple's music endeavors while iTunes dominance continues (Engadget)
May 27th 2010 10:49AM I see what you did there with that iTunes screenshot Engadget... touche.
Acer's Android-powered Stream gets official, gets handled, lives up to its name with DLNA support (video) (Engadget)
May 27th 2010 8:27AM The UI modifications Acer has made seem to be channeling a lot of elements from both WebOs and Blackberry 6 - though I am not sure if that's a good thing in this case. It looks a little too cluttered.
Features look great though, even if the design looks a tad awkward.
Robbie Bach: Project Natal a 'midlife kicker' for Xbox 360, 'absolutely confident' Courier innovations will appear elsewhere (Engadget)
May 25th 2010 4:27PM J Allard and Robbie Bach were behind all the things I liked about Microsoft. Let's hope this new direction Microsoft is taking is the right one.
Adobe targets Apple in ad campaign launched today, publishes open letter from founders (Engadget)
May 13th 2010 8:02AM It's a pity that since these ads are in Flash - no one on an iPad or iPhone are going to be able to see them. Kinda making them moot for the audience Adobe should be targeting.
Singapore injecting $14 million investment into games development (Joystiq)
Apr 26th 2010 11:56PM Singapore is actually home to a lot of large scale game and animation production companies - LucasArts, TakeTwo, EA and a host of other companies all have production houses here.
Additionally, you've also got the only other DigiPen campus located outside of the states.
So while the $14 million certainly won't go very far to any single game - considering it's essentially a grant by the government - it'll help a lot of smaller firms get the support they need. And I certainly don't doubt that bigger companies would mind having a couple million saved based on games they're already developing.
Singapore injecting $14 million investment into games development (Joystiq)
Apr 26th 2010 11:50PM I live in Singapore. And no. They don't. Look up the facts before you make a judgment like that.
You will, however get fined. And rightfully so.
Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two first hands-on! (Engadget)
Apr 12th 2010 2:15PM @N900 You're right. My girlfriend has gone through a few of those cheap, crappy "social" phones from Samsung and LG. She'd find a lot to love in this phone.
Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two first hands-on! (Engadget)
Apr 12th 2010 2:08PM @BuryTheCastle I'd have to agree. And while it's not the phone for me - the software behind the devices are pretty slick. I certainly have a lot of (real, non facebook) friends who'd consider it.
Me on the other hand: I want this functionality on my Windows Phone 7 device!
Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two first hands-on! (Engadget)
Apr 12th 2010 2:03PM KIN certainly has some great elements going for it - but you can't hide the fact that it's an awesome feature phone, perhaps even everything the next gen sidekick should be.
But as a Gen Y-er that places great value on what my gadgets can do - I'd much rather have all this functionality tied up in a nice little app on my Windows Phone 7 device.
