Abandoned Twitter accounts unsurprising considering abandoned blogs (Download Squad)

Jun 9th 2009 10:13AM I love Twitter, but one thing that makes it easy to understand its quick abandonment by so many: joining alone is difficult. you need a lot of friends to make it truly fun and worthwhile (one can only follow so many celebrities and news sources). I joined two months ago and of my 400 facebook friends, only 20 I know about on twitter.

Adobe Browserlab now in limited preview (Download Squad)

Jun 5th 2009 10:34PM I'm pretty excited about this - my devs have been struggling with browser issues since our site's got some javascript heavy stuff that doesnt always load right. IE6 is my blood enemy.

YouTube XL: YouTube launches TV sized video browser (Download Squad)

Jun 2nd 2009 5:00PM Umm is right - youtube is great but does the quality of the content/video really warrant display on someone's TV? youtube is pretty budget - especially without the premium content. could be fun though if you can curate content better and get better recs (there needs to be a Pitchfork for youtube).

Amazon adds physical data transfer option to AWS (Download Squad)

May 21st 2009 4:16PM I love the way Amazon has branched out to use its massive supercomputing and server capacity to make web development easier and more stable. Quick, giant data transfer = the next level of awesome.

Twitter: Our business model will be add-ons, not ads (Download Squad)

May 19th 2009 10:17PM hats off to Twitter for trying to find some premium services. but Charles is dead on - why would I stop using tweet deck, tweetie, etc? that said - advertising is a hard way to earn a buck. if they can get people to buy stuff more power to them. Twitter NT (a corporate version) - I could see something like that making a lot of sense.

Creative Commons launches "official unofficial" Facebook app (Download Squad)

May 18th 2009 7:04PM This is HUGE. More and more people are going to want to share content with the rest of the web. The "real time web" that's already here and getting bigger will depend upon smart and aware users and entities like CC helping them share their intellectual property, the right way.

Loginox: easy way to change your Mac's login image (Download Squad)

May 15th 2009 8:00PM I am definitely getting this. As a former PC user going on 5 years with a Mac, I am partial to the design and stability of macs. But lack of customization can sometimes be a little unnerving. Kudos to the Loginox peeps. One small step for MacUsers, one giant leap for ... uh, no one really.
