Nov 4th 2008 12:30PM Ok, I don't normally comment on site design issues, but really grey-on-black text (with a very light stroke text on top of that)? This is the hardest to read site I've seen in a really long time.

Psyclone's TouchCharge Kit for your 360 controller finally puts WildCharger to good use (Engadget)

Oct 31st 2008 3:01PM I think many of you are confusing this for 'wireless' as in 'remote'. This is wireless as in 'you dont have to hook up wires. The top surface of the charge has alternating strips of + and - electricity, and the contacts on the back of the battery back are situated such that when you set it down, it will always contact at least one + and one - strip. Some diodes in the pack then 'arrange' that internally into the proper polarity to the charging mechanism in the battery.

This is not induction based - nothing really special really, it's just a little bit of physical layout smarts that allows it to connect no matter how you set the item on the pad (as long as the back side is down).

Genius introduces G-Pen M712 / M609 pen tablets (Engadget)

Apr 25th 2008 7:11PM Yes, it does have a AAA battery in it. I think Wacom is the only company that makes batteryless active tablet pens. I don't mind 'large' like the Intious Grip Pen, but the one with this tablet was just uncomfortable and awkward, with some edges in the gripping area from plastic seems. They hurt after a while.

Also, no eraser end.

Genius introduces G-Pen M712 / M609 pen tablets (Engadget)

Apr 25th 2008 3:45PM If you have a mac, do not get this. The mac drivers are terrible. I got the M609 last week from Newegg. I returned it within 2 days and got a Wacom Intious3 from Costco online ($70 less then MSRP, $100 less than Newegg!).

You can see my review on Newegg (I also put an in-depth trashing on my blog, but Ill be a good boy and not link to it).

Also, the '2' scroll wheels cannot be mapped independently, and the pen is unnecessarily large.

iPhone SDK downloads exceed 100,000, upcoming games get outed (Engadget)

Mar 12th 2008 10:34AM I'm still waiting to hear back from them about my application to 'join' the iPhone dev program for $99. I registered my corp on Thursday, but haven't gotten a single email about it. Other places I have read indicate no one has heard anything yet from them.
